i'm trying to replace my crown gear on my p-gasser, and have a heap of trouble. first one of the counter sunk screws on the bottom collar striped, and then when trying to remove the upper collar that screw striped also. during the build i did use blue thread lock, but didn't crank the screws tight. so now that they are striped how can i go about getting them out. or should i just save myself the trouble, and order two new collars?

finally......i can fly!

I would say before anything else, go and get some good allen wrenches. Then, you may be able to get those screws out if you use some heat to break loose the locktite, but it will be a problem to get enough heat to do any good without damaging something else. You could try a soldering iron. If you can't get the split collar screw out after that, you might have to cut it with a dremel. The counter sunk screw on the bottom, might be able to slot it with a dremel and then use a screw driver. Good luck.

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

After you get a new, quality Allen wrench, Get a tube of "screw grab".
Heat the screw with a soldering iron, use the new wrench and screw grab. If it isn't buggered beyond recognition, it should come out.

If you can't get them off consider drilling them through.

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.
