How U doin!!!!

I am building my T-Rex 450, what tooth pinion gear should I use?????, I have a Hacker 15L and will be doing as much 3D with it as I can. I have also got hold of some JR DS381 digital servos which I will be placing on all surfaces, CSM 560 Micro gyro and some Sab carbon main blades. should make for a slick machine....

Hi Jamie,

That motor I think has a KV in the range of 3700...if so you would do well with a 11T pinion.

I am using 9t with the 2025 4200 and it rocks!
Batteries only get warm but you will need a heat sink for the motor, very stable, hovers at half throttle and will
do around 13+ minutes just static hovering on a 1600 3cell lipo.
I had tried an 11t but headspeed ws way too fast and batteries and motor got way too hot.

Hope this helps

Rich

I suggest 3700KV should try 10T first...

11T for a faster headspeed...the motor may be quite hot...

Or if you're in the USA:
Sparrow Products.

http://www.sparrowproducts.com/

They are all brass and press-fit.

However, you could also try doing a search for HPI Racing's Micro RS4. They sell a variety of 2mm bore hard steel pinions, complete with grub-screws for it.

Or if you're in the UK, this place is very reasonably priced:

Could you put your location in your profile so that people can direct you better in future posts?

What pinion should I use with the stock Align brushless motor? I think it is a 2800kv motor and I will be using a Thunder Power 11.1v 2100mah battery.

Use the 13T that comes in your kit. Let me know the motor works out for you.

I have the exact same setup as theROCKMAN. I tried a 3-cell TP 1320 and it just didn't have the juice to fly the T-Rex for more than about 4 minutes. The only pinion I've tried so far is the 13T that came with the kit.

The motor got quite hot, but the battery only got a little warm. I have a TP 2100 ordered and will try it with both the 11T and 13T pinions.
