OK, im at that point in the build. There arent a lot of places to put the gyro sensor on this model. Although the directions on the 601 dont mention the placement being critical, I was always under the impression closest to the mainshaft is the best for performance. Any opinions on this?

I pace it on the radio tray, as far back as possible. I actually make a plastic extension that covers the hole even more, and mount it onto that (use GOOP to mount the plastic to the metal.)

Later !

601 Placement
I Was Told As Close To CG As Possible. And Then Some One Said That It Don't Matter. I Placed My Gryo On Top Of The Evelator servo.
A Freind Made Me A machined Alum. Block That Fits Between The Top Frames. It Looks Good And Safe Up There. But As Far As A better Place Just Can't Say.

I ended up putting mine on a home made aluminum bracket that bolted through the frames. I really hated to drill holes in the frames, but what the heck! The gyro sensor is directly behind the mainshaft. Im hoping to post some pics this monday.

Gain
The closer you put the Gy to the main shaft the more gain you will have to play with. The further out you put it, the less gain you will have and the wags and hunting will give you a hard time, this is most so on gassers, ofcourse.
