The stage is now set (thanks to the Clintons) for this match up. See you in 4 years.

I don't think Hillary stands a chance against Guilliani. I think a lot of "stay at home moms" don't like how feminists degrade the work they do, and I think a lot of men won't vote for her because they see her as too much of a B!tch.

Just my 2 cents....

Usually candidates count on carrying their home state but…
This year Edwards didn’t even win his hometown…. I don’t thing Hillary could win the vote in her home…. Ummm…. home.

How true. Look at what Teresa Kerry said. It was an insult to stay at home moms.

Here in FL, the Dems actually ran and add that had two women conversing. One says to the other" I voted for Bush last time. I'm not voting for him this time.Bush never admits he's wrong, kind of like most husbands"

I kid you not. What kind of divisive crap is that?

That's why they lost big time!!!!

lol. tell me about. Not to say anything bad about Democrats, but last week at my college, I saw a car with a bumper sticker that read "Democrats care about the people." That gave me a good laugh before heading to Econ.

Hilary in 08? I shudder at the thought. If you thought this campaign was ugly just wait.

Actually I think Hillary would be up for reelection for the NY Senate seat in 06. Guilliani will probably run for that and win.

Of course that would free her up for an early start for an 08 run. However look at the history of Presidential candidates. Lots of senators have run and very few were successful. Successful bids for the White House most often come from the ranks of the State Governers.

So my wild guess for the 08 matchup would be
Hillary Clinton vs Jeb Bush. So Im predicting another Bush victory in 08.

MAH,
Very interesting. Jeb v Hillary. I still think Rudy has big aspirations, the senate seat is too small. He wants the presidency.

Yes you are correct, very few senators have won the presidency.

BTW, look at my "Governor Preference" in my profile.

Hillary will be another bad Democratic choice, an they will once again not control the White House.

First of all, this country is not ready for a female pres.
Secondly, not too many people like Hillary.

If Guiliani does run, he is an American 9/11 hero. He's been tested under fire. Tough to beat, even though he is bald (Remember, this is a pretty boy contest as well.) and does not have an American last name.

Best Regards, Dario

Since when is an Italian last name un-American?

More than likely Bush will appoint Guilliani to replace Ashcroft in his second term so that Rudy stays in the limelight.

Hillary will be another bad Democratic choice
She will join a long list of other failed liberal democrats : George Mcgovern, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, John Kerry.

Might as well as throw in Jimmy Carter as well.
Even though he was elected in 1976 he was an utter failure. As was Bill Clinton but thats material for another time.

When Hillary runs in 08 pay attention to the message. It will be exactly the same. They will run the same campaign. Same issues. Pushing the same buttons. Same catch phrases.

Go back and read some of George McGovern's speeches from the 1972 campaign. You will swear its 2004 and the Kerry campaign. The point is the democratic message hasnt changed in over 30 years.
f Guiliani does run, he is an American 9/11 hero. Tough to beat, even though he is bald and Italian
Well the presidential campaign is about WHO you are not WHAT you are. That was the problem with the Kerry campaign. They would not (could not) let it be about who he was. They tried to remake his image into something he was not. At least Howard Dean stood up and proudly claimed he was a liberal.

I think this will be a good test of the Dem party. If they run her they really have lost it completely. Don't get me wrong, the republicans are a little nutty sometimes, but the Dems just make me want to ask WTF?

Then again, there is they whole debate if she would qualify as the first female president candidate....

Did you guys see any of the news stories about democrats considering moving to Canada as a result of the election? If Hillary gets elected in '08, I might have to consider fleeing to Canada. Actually I'd probably head for Mexico.
