MrDHEJ,

I have one about 90% complete at home. I could snap some pics tonight if you like. Anything in particular you would like to see? The only thing I can't get pics of is the tail rotor control--they left the rod and bellcrank out of my kit.

Here's some pics of my Predator Gasser SE/231. I recently upgraded the stock aluminum frames to the carbon set now available.

The stock carbon kit should be no different.

Whoa! That's beautiful!

Why did you upgrade to the aluminum frame?

Also I just bought a Predator Max 90 (no engine) Can you give me some good sources of where I can buy parts?

Thanks.

Ron.

Ron,

I wanted to try the carbon frames along with a gear ratio change. The carbon frames are a quarter pound lighter than the stock frames and more rigid.

You can get parts from Century directly or Rick's RC.

Raymond,

So can I drop a gasser engine right into my Max 90 frame? If yes, what size engine would you suggest?

Also what is your all up weight?

Thanks again.

Ron.

Not exactly......
there are LOTS of interchangable parts, for sure. The things that ARE NOT.....are covered in this conversion kit:

Predator Gasser Conversion Kit

CN1303C26 This kit contains everything you need to convert predator standard to predator gasser and a Z-26 Hason Heli Engine. $868.50

CN1303C23 This kit contains everything you need to convert predator standard to predator gasser and a Z231 Zenoha 23cc Gasoline Heli Engine. $754.95

CN1303C This kit contains everything you need to convert predator standard to predator gasser.. $464.95

you wonder why I have not converted mine yet?? Cause I want a NEW ONE !!!!!!!!!

Ron, I converted my std. SE gasser to carbon. The upgrade was not from a glow to a gasser. I simply dropped my metal frames for carbon and changed the pinion from a 14 tooth to a 13 tooth. I'm now running a 6.92 gear ratio up from 6.43 which is what I was running earlier with a 90 tooth main.

There is a lot of parts that have to be changed, new clutch, sideframes, lower engine plate, servo frames, fuel tank frames, long boom, TT and blades and so forth.

If it were me and I had a Predator glow and wanted a gasser I think I would just sell the glow or keep it and buy the gasser whole.

The basic gasser from glow kit with the 231 engine is $750, the whole new heli with 231 is $995. For an additional $250.00 you get the whole ship new in the box with engine.

I've not weighed it since I went to carbon frames but I'm guessing it's right around 12lb.

Ray - Is that elevator push pull arm on correctly - I put mine the other way (like the instructions show) with the tall arm pointing up - do I need to switch it?

ASAT,

I never read the instructions but I think it will work either way.

It made sense to me with the short side on top so it would clear the upper bearing block bolts.

I'm out of town on business this week, so I can't walk over and look at my ship closer.

I know one thing, this heli flies so frikkin good. I can't wait to get my second one for my scale Hughes 500E.

I have the Century Hughes 500E. I had Raptor 60 mechanics in it and it flew OK but was underpowered with the OS61.

I really didn't want to put a 91 glow in it as they tend to be hard to start sometimes and I didn't want to deal with that headache.

Payton (Lift) had a 500E with Predator glow mechanics in it and the 5 bladed Century head and it flew great. Only bad thing was it smoked like a chimney....

I believe the gasser mechanics will fit without any problems, I measured the Raptor 60 from bladegrip to bottom of frames and they are almost the same as the Predator gasser.

It should have plenty of power with 680 blades as that is what I used on the 60 mechanics.

The Century body is HUGE, fit shouldn't be an issue and I would love to eventually put a 5 bladed head on it after I get some runtime with the stock flybar head.

I have pics of my Hughes 500 on my website http://www.helidriver.com it's painted in an awesome Breitling paint scheme that was a real bitch to paint and decal but was well worth the results.

good luck!
