Are piro loops basically just like piro flips? Just more collective management? Or is there a special technique to it?

I've managed to do half a piro loop by flying into it at the bottom and starting a big piroflip but keeping alot of positive pitch in till it gets to the top but can't for the life of me get round the other side.

You can do huge piro-loops by dabbing forward and aft cyclic. It helps to have a gyro that keeps a consistent piro rate. The consistent rate is important on the last portion of the loop where the heli is carrying a lot of speed. That's kind of a weakness of the 401. Anyway, I used to do piro loops where you stir the cyclic and keep the mainshaft facing the center of the circle. With the mainshaft facing the center of the circle, you rely more on inertia for forward velocity. Therefore, they aren't as big a loop. It is more difficult for me to do the smaller stirring type loops and I have pretty much stopped practicing them anymore. I recently downloaded a video of CY and AS where they nailed the difficult type and they were pretty large. You need a real good gyro for them because you enter with a lot of speed, and you especially need a consistent piro rate with the stirring/difficult ones. The huge/easier/dabbing ones are fun/challenging enough for me. If I start to stir, the loop just gets smaller.

After you have a saved recording in G2
Go to the folder there G2 is installed (C:/programs/g2 or equal).
Open the folder named Recordings, use winzip or winrar to zip the file you wants to upload to your RR gallery.
And the just upload it.

Hey! Thanks for the replies. Yea - I kinda gotcha now i think. Just something I'll have to play around with next time i'm flying.

In your opinion, do you think it's easier to do with a faster or slower piro rate?
