Not sure if this is correct but before I start the heli I set the throttle trim switch on the TX to just under half way.
Correct.
flip the left hand toggle switch upwards (toward me) which kicks in the gyro and stabilizes the tail rotor
Perhaps, switching from normal to heading hold.
Mine is set to heading hold at all times and do not need a switch.
Practice hovering on calm days and when you get better at it, try it with the wind no more than 10mph. Patience and lots of it is what you need to become successful in this hobby.
Get Ray's Heli manual to speed up your knowledge about helis.

I have Ray's Heli manual..was the first thing bought

I am still trying to figure out the right hand switches on the TX..Detonate and something else

Guy who set it up said the right hand is autorotate and throttle hold...I was trying to make notes as he told me tons of info ina few minutes.

Can someone tell me what the Idle up does exactly...does it move the throttle curve..It seems like throttle midstick then becomes 0, and anything below midstick increases throttle as well as anytrhing above midstick increases throttle so one can fly upside down ?

What does the Autorotate switch do ?

wew...thanks

What a lot of guys do when they first start is when its close to the ground they throttle back and put it down sometimes hard enough to break the dowels. The roto pod I used the dowels didnt fold down they were fixed in place and so if you landed hard you would break the dowels. Making a good landing when your ready is a good practice instead of landing hard. It makes you in control

Pathogens:

Yes all the questions were answered thank you.

The Gasser is quite a jump and I am hoping the increased weight
and a very high quality machine will make flying a very solid experience.

Was just reading about vortex ring state/ turbulent wake state
and definately learnt something new. I never knew a heli could descend too fast and drop thru its own 'dirty air' / downwash resulting in no response to the throttle and a crash if one is to near the ground. I now know why people say to come in like a plane, horizontal forward movement as opposed to sudden vertical downward movement.

Giving more negative pitch is a must, I have -3 on my rappy. Also I think I read that you have a rotopod. Do you have it in the holes where the heli is off the ground or flat. When I started out I set it up off the ground. Every time I came down it wanted to bounce. I was afraid that it would bounce and tip over. So from then on I have it setup flat on the ground. Keep burning the fuel.
