Well chaps
Having read all the hype about how brain mashingly easy the 601 is to setup (compared to the honours degree reqmt for a 560) I just had to go get one to see..
So easy even a laydee could set it up?
Well I'm a lady and I must say I've not come across a more opaque manual in a long time, compared to this the CSM tome is a masterpiece of erudition.
OK so the 601 might be the only gyro in the village with whizzy heading lock decay thingy but for anyone to claim it's a doddle to setup by following the manual (which I assume is the manufacturers intention) is pulling yer plonker...

Or am I missing something?

You would have stuck with your super jr and csm because you wouldn't have heard how easy the futaba is to setup.

It is easy to setup a 601, set the limits, put it in 3d mode and forget about it.

Ah ha..
so it was you you sent me the sms.
Paul,
Did you actually manage to lift off without the Jesus bolt in or was it just the rotorhead took off and left the poor old Rap90 sitting on the floor.
What happened?

Yep about 2 months rebuilding ..thought I'd double checked everything I could, new radio gear (mostly) everything tickerty boo..

Spooled it up lifted into a hover to check tail ..suddenly it shoots up to 10ft and kinda falls onto it's side.

Ding in the boom and cracked horizontal fin ... could have been worse
