Here's the count this morning.

Fox News gives Bush 269, Kerry 242
MSNBC gives Bush 269, Kerry 252
and Communist News Network gives Bush 254, Kerry 252.

254 to 252 is NOT biased. If anything thats fair. Fox would be the biased ones giving Bush 269 and Kerry 242.

Ain't that the truth!

How 'bout this, Bg_

The reason Fox has a higher count is that they called Ohio for Bush, yet these others (except MSNBC) did not. Yet they called Wisconsin and Michigan, where the margins were much slimmer than Ohio, for Kerry.

Why?

I think that makes Jerry's point

Its silly to say CNN is biased (but FOX is not) when FOX and NBC seem to be the odd ones out.

All they are doing is trying not to embarass themselves again.

Come on, Bg_,

Why would they call Wisconsin and Michigan for Kerry and not Ohio for Bush? Why not show the same 'caution'?

The only silly thing here is the continuing delusional belief that CNN, ABC, CBS, NYT, WP, and the BBC is not biased.

Super Phreek,

I would normally agree, but I fully expect the bias to keep coming hot and heavy. In fact, probably much more now that they start ramping up for Hillary's run in 2008. And as long as people refuse to see the biases in these media outlets disguised as 'news', we should continue to point it out.

Likewise, FOX and NBC have their own biases. That's the only thing I have problem with: when people say all the rest but FOX are biased.

I think its complete BS to prop up FOX news as an unbaised source.

I don't know why some organizations didn't call Ohio, I dunno waht kind of projection math they were using. Each organization did it differently. The WT agreed with CNN anyway, and I think they are the FOX news equivalent newspaper, right?

Edit: to make it perfectly clear, I expect each news organization to have its own bias, and I try not to favor one over the other.

Well Bg_,

Saying FOX is slightly Biased is true, but Fox News trys to provide both sides of the argument equally, which most other news (CNN) organizations lean a lot more toward the left. Just because of this, most people come out and say Fox is ultra right, which I do not think is true.

There is no such thing as an unbiased opinion.

I disagree that Fox as a news source is biased. But let me explain.

When Fox presents the news, they present it is a simple, bullet form. Here's the fact; no editorial. However, there are shows on Fox that have right leanings, and left leanings. So yes, there is biased opinion on Fox. But it is not part of the news. Unfortunately, we are so used to having our news and editorials mixed together vis-a-vis CNN, 60 minutes, etc., that we don't even recognized simple, fact-bullet news anymore.

I think it is important to look at how Fox made the decisions to assign the states they did. It was logical and well thought-out. And accurate, I might add. I was ticked that they didn't call New Mexico earlier, but they explained that there were some precincts in Albequerque that hadn't reported, and they weren't sure how they'd go. Ohio, on the other hand, was very clear.

First of all, THE ELECTION IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!! Stop aruging ever stupid things like news stations being biased or not. Plus, there will NEVER be a perfect news station. They will all always be a little biased.

Just because the election is over doesn't mean that CNN, BBC et al are suddenly, miraculously going to become centrist media outlets.

Sceaduflyer,
I was simply stating a fact.
No. The following is 'opinion':
Stop aruging ever stupid things like news stations being biased or not. Plus, there will NEVER be a perfect news station. They will all always be a little biased.
Again, inability to distiguish fact from opinion is a plague in this world.
I refuse to get sucked into this argument.
