I'm working with a recently acquired Logo 10 with a C50 15L, Phoenix 80 and 4S4P Lipos.

Problem: Fresh batteries - runs great for 30 seconds, then slows down and has just enough power to hover - that's it. Motor and controller feel almost cool. Battery cycles to full capacity when tested.

There is no binding in any bearings or in the tail belt/assembly. Bad controller? Bad motor?

Thanks to anyone with experience in this.

The pack voltage will settle after a short time loaded.

What pinion gear are you using? What headspeed are you seeing? Batteries warm or puffed?

4s4p with a 15L isn't a real high performance setup, but will be a decent sport flying setup. I ran this exact setup for a few months before making some changes.. My setup back then was 15L, Beat 55-6-18,4s4p TP LiPo G1, 16T pinion.

Quickly dropping headspeed usually indicates bad cell(s)/pack, but if you claim pack takes full charge, hmmm. Thats still the first place I'd look w/o any other info...

Batteries are cold and not puffed. This isn't a normal voltage drop as it will barely maintain a hover. Yes, the battery cycles at 7500 mah.

I'm running a 14T pinion - head speed is 1650 no load.

I'm sending the controller to Castle to have it checked. I'll try the inexpensive test first...

What did you change to to get you setup hotter?

Using a 16T caused too much bogging with the original setup. I had 2 sets of 4s4p's, so rather than changing batteries, I went to a fun600-18 (similar to a B50-13L). Otherwise you could add some volts (5s3p, etc) and keep the motor. Not sure how the CC ESC will be with the extra V, I never trusted them on machines this size..

There are a lot of different power combos, really depends on how you fly and what you want to do with it.

I've had similar symptoms on my Eco caused by both the pinion slipping and the one-way bearing slipping in its hub. It's also possible for the magnets to slip on the motor shaft, but I've not experienced that one in person.

Kind of a long shot, but check your throttle curves to make sure you're running a minimum of 90% in hover. ESCs get more inefficient the further you get from 100%.

Auto hub and pinion are both fine. My throttle curve is 100,90,100. We'll see if Castle Creations finds anything wrong with the controller.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

There was only one pack. Anyway, problem solved - I bought an Ion-x.
