Having just read a thread about the ice melting and the threat of rising sea's
Can someone tell me why we can't take a hosepipe into space dangle it into the see and let the vacuum of space remove some or the sea?

Ok i know the hosepipe would be heavy because of the hundreds of miles in length and i've also thought that maybe gravity would be stronger than the pull of the vacuum.

Being hyperthetical here can someone tell me why it can't be done.

Don't tell me to smoke something else either

That would be one big garden hose

I live in the driest state on the driest continent. Why not fill the centre of Australia and make a big lake

I think I have a much better idea. Why don't we dig a big hole and pour all that excess water in the hole?

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We can just boil all that water away.

Oh and Daren, try the patch for that smoking habit.

I suppose it would work though.. if you could just find the on/off switch for the vaccum of space. But, would we need to change the filter first?

Stick it in Kerry`s pie-hole, unless that peter-puffer John Edwards is currently occupying it that is.

Well, we can't make a building a mile tall yet. So building a tube 70+ miles high is going to be hard. Besides that the enormous weight of the water. If that thing even bent 1/2 degree to one side, the loads on it would be incredible. Although it would be pretty interesting to see that huge structure slam down onto the earth. It'd probably lop LA clean off of California!
