I have purchased a set of 95mm tail blades for a R50. I was told that they were to long and could cause a problem when trying to auto because of the length.

There is the possibility of the main blades hitting the tail blades, especially with the stock wooden blades. What blades you running?

I reckon all the biggest tail blades you should run are 92mm, thats what I run, with 603mm main blades (MAH). Check out the tips section on this website.....

I liked the SAB 92 tail blades the best on the Rappy. Nice and wide and pretty much constant chord.

Freya stock blue blades will work too - still plastic though.

85mm
NHP 85mm or any other Blade that is stiff and has a wide cord (SAB=good) will work fine. Hell, I heard that even cut down plastic blades will work better than the stock plastic.
I just started using the 85mm NHP. Noticeable difference, perkier.
Another member, Phranque, uses 92mm NHPs with glass blades, which flex more than carbon, and has yet to hit, in spite that he flies the sh!% out his R50.
BTW I saw the injured Rappy at the Jamboree. I can't remember what main blades used.

I can never get enough tail ...................responce.

I would suggest no larger than 92mm tail blades but I would highly recommend larger than 85mm blades if you plan on doing a lot of backwards and backwards inverted flying. I would also suggest running the stiffer red dampners in the head to reduce the risk of striking the larger tail blades. I actually run 95mm blades on my Raptor 50 but I have a longer boom and belt installed on it.

It all depends on how aggressive you fly

85mm NHPs here, but I've also got a set of 95mm ready to be cut down a little. So far I'm very happy with the 85s

Only problem is that NHP's don't come in 92mm. You have to cut down 95s

I ran NHP 95's for A LONG time and never really had a problem. But last week i was doing piro flips in some pretty strong wind and heard a loud click. I came down and landed, and sure enough, I broke both of my tail blades. Later when I got home, I decided to take out a ruler and measure how much of a crack it put in one of the blades. 3mm. So that'd take it down to 92mm. lol. Needless to say, I'm running 92's now. haha
