Finally after 3 months of waiting i got my Raven 50. I was thinking about engines to put in it. I want to put in the O.S. 50 Hyper. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this engine in a raven. Perforance wise and will it fit in the cooling shroud. I can see that the cylinder head is a different shape and it looks taller. Will it fit or are there modifications to be made.

Thanks guys

I have no experience with the performance of Hyper in the Raven, but I've seen the cooling shroud must be trimmed for fit. If the performance is what everyone is saying, it WILL be fun!

The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

I have a Hyper in my Falcon, same shroud as the Raven, and I had to cut my shroud, where my shroud is cut it rest right on the top fin of the head, so all the cooling air is pushed in threw the fins, the head keep quite cool,,,

if you cut and fit, cut and fit you can get a good fit between the head and shroud, you need a good seal between the head and where the shroud is cut, the better the fit the more cooling air you will have passing over the head.

thanks guys. I am going to go with the hyper in my Raven. Modifications you talked about don't seem too difficult. Can't wait to see how it works out.

Thanks again

Yahh hooo !!!
You will be happy !!
I had to cut out the bottom of the shroud and a little inside to get the carb clear inside on my Raven.

My SX-h was tired so I of course saw a increase in power

but man that Hyper is a runner !! Way cooler running for sure. smoother runing for as well and uses a little less fuel, and did I say smooth !!
I love the carb. The 40 carb was good but this 60 model is just even better. The burn seems more consistant and I can run a little less fat without heating up so I am gaining a little power there for sure as well.

It definitly has more power and consistancy that my SX-H had brand new. Just running a maveric muffler to boot.
