Hi, currently have five 3S 1200 E-tec and would like to turn them into three 5s batteries. I was wondering how difficult this is and what tools I would need. I currently have the std. soldering equipment but have never tried lipos. Also these batteries have approx. the same amount of flight time on them.

The main issue you will encounter is that lipo cell tabs are often aluminum and so require special solders and fluxes (available from cheapbatterypacks.com or others). Some packs use crimps to connect the cells rather than solder.

There is some pack assembly info on FMA's website. (or atleast there was a few months back)
