I came real close to burning in my Raptor 30 yesterday. Was doing a test flight and I had her up at about 50ft. It was then that I started getting bite by about 20 fire ants. I went full throttle and climbed out. Once I got the ants off I looked up and was almost out of site. Did a few patterns and brought her back in. Lesson learned to look for ant hills before you fly.

I hear you there. Bugs always seem to know when you are doing something important and then they bite you. I have never had a problem with fire ants because they are not around here but horse flies a very bad to have on you. I was bring my helicopter in to land and one landed on my forehead and started biting me. While everyone just stood there and laughed at me i did a climb just like you and i killed that stupid bug. The next day my forehead was swelled up and there was no bridge to my nose. At least that made everyone feel bad about laughing.

Keep killin' the bugs
