Hi gang; help please!
Now got a decent big tank system on the old GSbaron but yesterday after about 20 min flying the engine went sick and has all the classic signs of either a air leak or semi block fuel feed.
what the best way to clean these carbs out , i have cleaned the small gauze filter inside .......no difference. If I richen the mixters by half a turn it kind of works but there is a huge flat spot when spooling up that you can bully your way through by nailing the gas hard for a second.
The engines is a kg 22 S zenoah. can any one tell me the carb type and can one from a 231 fit?

It's probably a walbro 167a, and it sound like you may be lean on the low needle.

It sounds like it is having trouble transitioning from the low to high needle. Try bringing the high back down a little and richen the low.

The change happened so quick while flying ......thats why I thought somthing like fuel block etc.
Going to strip it at work today so will find out.

The carb model is stamped next to the fuel intake nipple.

yep is a 167
Cleaned all out and made a new intake gasket....wonder full for one flight ! Needles back to 1 3/8 both great! Then this afternoon belly up again. Ideas. Where to get a good fuel filter inline type. and what is the 633 carb , is this better bigger and does it fit?
Thanks again for the help.

Never saw a 633. The 603 (with built in choke) is a replacement for the 167 on the 23s.
Supposed to be much easier to tune.

to revman.
ive got a kalt gs too and a zenoah g230rc1 laid around.carbs look virtually the same, only v.slight differences in bolt casting from what i see, but venturi is smaller on the 167. 167 is kalt kg22 and 603 is zenoah.....cant see why they wont swap if thats your thoughts.....0.5cc capacity difference .....lose that in the adjustment
sounds like a blockage to me......i was once told, double filter the fuel into the tank and never fit a filter to a heli....it works for me.
check the piston rings(2) and bore...might be starting to pickup.only 1 piston ring in the zenoah g230
ALRO RACING still has bits for kg22's and is a wizard tuner i'm told.he says some parts swap/interchangeable...kg22 was made by zenoah. find him at
http://www.alroracing.com
Kalt kg22 engine spares also at MIDLAND HELI'S http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk

too much choice ......too little cash.
