I've tried every resourse I could find but can't get an answer. Maybe someone here knows a thing or 2 about VW electrics.

I had fitted a push button starter to my G60 to avoid having to replace the expensive ingnition/start switch on the column and it worked just fine.

2 days ago I was working on something else and the leads to the push button got shorted to a ground. Now I have no power to anything that is switched by the ignition (key) switch. I have all non-key switched lights and there are no popped fuses in the block. I can't find a fusable link anywhere either.

Does anyone know if the power to the key switch goes through the starter or alternator?

I was able to run a jumper from the battery pos directly to the pushbutton switch and it would start but I notices the ABS and brake pressure generator is not running.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
