Well I finally plucked up the courage to try some loops at lunch time today, What a buzz. I have been practicing nose in and stall turns and also FFF and decided that now I can do stall turns and 540 stall turns, I would go that bit further and continue the stall into a loop and got it spot on. I then done another 6 or 7 just to make sure that it was not just luck, and found that they are just so easy to do, I apply - pitch as I start to bring the nose over and then start going to +pitch on the pullout and out I come at the same altitude that I entered and a perfectly round loop.
I must confess that I belive the heli is doing most of the work because I seem to have to do very little to do the manover. I also found when starting forward flight that the heli seems to stabalise itself and I have to do very little to control it.
I just need to be able to put all this together and not be shaking like a leaf at the end of the flight.
The last 10 weeks seem to have flown by, I started flying helis in August and can't belive that I have progressed to this point so fast.
What a great hobby.
