Hi guys,

I saw many galleries and pics, but I have never saw any helicopter which comes with YS and tune pipe combo....so I was wondering is it possible to put a tune pipe on YS engine....?

Don't go there. It's a nightmare on the YS heli engines. The closest excuse for a (semi)tuned exhaust that you'll ever want near a YS heli engine is the MPII.

You know all the guys on our field fly on Funtech YS combo....
and I really do like that performance, same about Hatori...
On the last weekend I managed to put Hatori tune pipe on my evo50, and I definitely felt power increasing, especially during fast tic-tocs.
So after such experience I feel like I want to use a tune pipe with my YS91, but I really have never ever saw that.
I know that for example K.Yamaguchi use Hatori, but once again it is with O.S....

I dont think you´ll find lack of power when going 90.

'Hm now I just have to find out where to connect the GV1 sensor to the Jazz80 ESC.

You know me, I need some extra
So should I try Hatori on YS, I or it would take an ages to tune it right and it doesn't worth it!

IMO it's waste of time. It just won't work right. If you think that YS with a quality muffler like Funtech and high nitro doesn't give you enough grunt then go for a Webra engine with tuned pipe. It's just plain awesome.

Well, about thousand years ago me and my buddies tried the original MP with YS61 and it didn't work very well. Yes power was a bit higher than with a muffler, but it was a painfull operation to tune that combo...

It will work if you tune the lenght to the lower RPM's the motor turns.
The problem people have is because they try to tune the pipe lenght for high RPM's which the motor doesn't like. Hatori pipes have a tuned lenght for higher RPM's,which means they are too short. We were able to get a hatori pipe to work on a 61ST2 a while back but we had to make an extension for the header. It made tons of power, but at loss of a strong mid range, i believe the pipe did not have enough volume. in fact i use the same pipe on my OS50 now. The exhaust porting on the 80 and 91 is fairly high compared to the OS motors 162 degrees VS 154 for the OS, you wouldn't want to turn the motor over 15000 or it will be touchy to tune the needles.
