Hello,
I notice that some fuel use low vis oil, while other use high vis.
Which one is better for our heli engine, low viscosty synthetic lucricant or high viscosity?
What is is pros and cond of both of them.
Thank you in advance

Albertus

IMO low viscosity oil works better in high nitro and high viscosity works well in 0-20% nitro.
reason being , low viscosity is thinner thus allowing higher RPM but it offers less protection as compared to the same amount in high viscosity, hence larger amounts of LV oil is required(20+%).
As to high viscosity, it offers better protection so lower oil content is needed (18% will do) allowing for more burnable fuel per piston cycle resulting in an increase in power.

Hi Helirulz,
We are not far away, I'm from Indonesia.
About your oppinion, I think it's make sense.
I switch my fuel last 3 gallon from CP15% to a Byron 15%. Byron says that they use low vis oil, while CP 15% use high vis.
I notice that my CSpec PS engine the setting is 3/4 turn out on Byron, while on CP 1.25 turn out. I think because oil on Byron is thinner and more easy to flow.
I think I will back to CP, since never have any problem with it.
The power is better on CP.
