Once you get a west 90 on 10% you can show all these 30% slurping tart motors what power is all about....

Amazing how all the top pilots missed this one and are still trying to win 3D championships with slurping tart motors

Guess people would take it more seriously if you hadn't been palmed off with a right hand manifold.

Actually this was the 1st prototype and was custom made for the 1st ever fitting of this combo in a raptor.... nice try smartar$e but no cigar..

As this motor is new and they dont pay people to fly it, I doubt many will be using it in top competition, but hey if you wanna be a sheep and use an OS 91 C-Spec PS modified with a viper head and cline regulator on 30% fuel, dont let me stop you...

Ever heard the phrase "open minded"..

EDIT:

PS if it was a right hand manifold the pipe would land 3 seconds before the heli

Open minded? Try mis guided

Regarding the manifold, Motors and Rotors can supply you with the right version, might make the set up look less geeky.

So, what head speed are you running, how much pitch can you pull without losing headspeed? What on earth persuaded you to take such a long shot with an unproven combo? Couldn't you get enough power out of Pumped C spec?

Heliman1 - Its QUK

Thumper, the manifold for the West pipe is not like anything M+R sell, they only work with the west pipe and have a special teflon coupler with the purple silicon retainer.

I decided to take a long shot as I already have the west 50H in my R50 and the engine was offered to me very cheap with the R90. My problem is I should have gone with the Mini-Pipe not the full pipe...

That has now been rectified

The reason for not going OS is its even more hassle and I wanted summat different that I could use on the same fuel as my R50.

Littleman

I wont be able to say how much I like it until its run in and tuned properly, but so far its smoother than my old YS's even when rich, the punch in the climb at +10 is awesome, but inconsistent...

I know its a tuning and running in issue so far, I am just looking forward to getting it finished and then see just how good it really is...

could you toss a pic of the mini-pipe on here as well?
keep in mind that the engine is ABC so it will always be quite tight. just kep that in mind.

Actually its ABN, and it wont always be so tight, once properly run in the motor will loosen somewhat...

Pic of mini pipe will go up later when my cam is charged

good call.
1 other thng with the fuel you are using take a look at the bearings every one in a while, to make sure they still look healthy. prosynth uses less oil then some others.

Prosynth uses a lot less oil, but its the quality of the oil and the viscosity that counts....

low smoke, less oil, more viscous, less burning off..

Wildcat follows the same ethos

that really does look nice, thanks. the best thing about the header is that it is easier to get to the engine screws. i still prefer cp fuel still very litrle smoke and it runs well.
thanks,
