Los Angeles Labor Day "Classic"
Hey Guys,
I have been out of town for a while, and I'll be out of town for most of August.
But, I will be back for the Classic!
I am the CD for the event, but Mike is the Guy putting this on.
There is already a growing pile of raffle prizes and plans are being put together now.
It look as if it will be similar to the years past - lots of pilots, lots of vendors, lots of great flying and at least some contests. Just so everybody knows, I will not be judging the drag races this year. I never felt so much like a target as I did that day. Any volunteers?
I expect the usual suspects plus always new faces. Who of you are coming? And what contests would you like to see?
I for one think the non-sponsored pilot 3-D contest might be fun again.
Regards,
Mitch Kahn

Just Ugly Rumors
Got off the phone with Mike a moment ago.
He said that it looks like a surplus of events for Saturday. Like I said before it is Mike's deal and he is hard at work planning things.
I am however the CD, and I will be on site the entire time. I have plane tickets flying in on the 25th for this, so I am certain to be here.
Looking forward to it as always. It's come to be an institution.

Hey guys!

I have a pre-registration form now available. A free raffle ticket and T-shirt is available to all pre-registration applications. Since I can't upload the app here, pls let me know who would like one by contacting me directly at mikeflyz@aol.com. I will then send the application (Word Document) as an attachment, where you can complete it and return it back to me. Use LA 3D Classic in the subject line please.

Anyone interested in an micro-electric drag race? Or would everyone like an electric endurance contest?

Some highlights: We plan to have a Bar-B-Que on Saturday evening, and immediately afterward, the Night Flying event. We are also discussing with the LA City Fire about the possibility of having a live water drop demo or static display.

Sorry to be a wet blanket
Sorry Guys,

Would really have like to come to the event, but you moved it to the same week-end as Bayside's (been the week-end before Labor Day for the last 7 years). It would have been nice if you all didn't move your event from Labor Day. Now the factory pilots and regular flyers will now have to make a choice and both clubs will have less participation due to the split .

As far as the weekend is concerned, I have already discussed this privately and I regret that there was a conflict. I was unaware of this condition prior to it's schedule. For other reasons, and for what it's worth, I have tried to move the event to the next weekend last February, but I have been unable to get it changed by the board and it regrettably could not be held on the first weekend of September.

Novice Activities
Hi there, I`m a brand new pilot, just started a few weeks ago with a Raptor 50 and ran through about 3 Gallons, just took of the training wheels.
I am definatly exited about watching the pros at the event, but since this is the first one I am going to, I was wondering if there are any activities for beginners. Basicaly, should I even bring my Heli, or just the camera ?
Thanks,
Chris

At these events we have only purpose in life to Burn Fuel, Burn Fuel, and Burn Fuel everthing else is secondary. Bring your bird if you ain't burning you ain't learning. I'll see you there.
