Thought you all might be interested in the story of my NT which I bought from CEB on this forum, his real name is Christian Barratt and he works for electrolux In Dublin.
Read this post, http://www.runryder.com/t85135p1/ it will give you a little background on Christian, in fact it was because of this post that I thought he would be genuine and ok to do business with.
Ok so the NT, I had the money ready to go down to revolution when I posted on here to see if there were any upgrades I should buy at the same time, I got a PM from Christian who had a brand new 03 NT, Engine, Gyro, Pipe, Tails Servo all manuals and boxes etc built but never run, he even had a link to a picture of it on a club web site.
So over six weeks ago I made the trip to hollyhead to meet Christian off the ferry, He told me he would be booked on the return boat but would have about 40 mins for me to check the heli over.
The ferry docked and about 35 mins later Christian appeared with the NT and told me he only had 5 mins before having to get on the boat back.
The alarm bells should have rung at this point but after a 2.5 hour drive I just wanted to do the deal and get home, the heli looked new from what I could see in a 5 mins glance in a crowded ferry terminal.
Christian explained that in the rush he had left the boxes, manuals and some of the small parts in his car back in Dublin but He would post them the next day(Monday)by express and I would have them by Wednesday.
Noticed on the way home that the canopy had a crack in it, no big deal I though, got home noticed the clutch was jammed, tail rotor blades not on right way round, tail belt twisted wrong way, no bushes in the carbon tail blades and a scratch full width of the root on one of the main blades plus a few other minor build issues.
Ok so I should have not been pressured by the fact he only had 5 mins and should have checked the heli properly, no worries though buy a new set of blades put the other few build problems right and still shouldn’t be too bad a deal.
Wednesday came and went quite a few times and still no stuff From Christian, for weeks I pm’d emailed and spoke to him on the phone listening to many excuses until finally a month later I received a bag with a few screws, still no manuals, boxes, software for the gyro etc.
It was about this same time I found the reason for the clutch problem, the bell had been assembled without a spacer and damaged the bearings.
Christian had offered to refund my money due to the problems but when I took him up on the offer he was skint.
Its now over six weeks since I colleted the heli, I have a stripped down NT sat in my front room, still no boxes, manuals, software clutch bell spacer etc, etc.
So beware he still has another NT he is trying to sell plus a sceadu, if you find yourself meeting someone at hollyhead or close by don’t be as stupid as I was check properly and don’t let him out of your site unless you have everything he promised, also bear in mind the picture on the web site turned out to be another NT with my canopy on it.
Its quite funny really when you read the post I mentioned earlier, Christian was really angry and felt badly done to and immediately let everyone on the forum know about it, My guess would be that when he did the deal he only sent half of what he had promised which Is why the guy in Canada returned it to him.
