We would like to invite you to our 2nd annual heli fun-fly being held on 31 July and 1 Aug in sunny Albuquerque, NM. We had a great turnout last year and lots of fun. We should even have two flight lines by this years event. One is a new heli only flight line and the other being our current huge paved runway. There will be plenty of flying going on, that's for sure.

Carl,
Could you provide a little clarification on the name on shirt cutoff. In the Model Aviation event listing it states that the first 40 people registered by 1 July get their name on the shirt. However, this limitation is not stated on the registration form. Is this a real limit or has that changed?

Thank you,
John

John,

We are going to try to stretch the deadline out as far as we can. July 1st is the date we can be sure of now, but we will delay as long as possible. I will see if Scott can get me a firm answer on the date and post it here.

Scale helis are definitely welcome! I guess there is a problem with the website, so here is a quick overview. Dates are July 31 and Aug 1. There will be a few contests, and drag racing, but a lot of open flying. We have a great field with a big paved runway and three separate heli pads. Camping is free, but no hookups. Raffle with some good prizes including at least 1 heli kit, 3 governors, realflight, a gy401, OS50, MAH blades paddles, and tail blades, and a lot of other various goodies. I think we wll have 1 or 2 computers setup for people to use realflight, and it looks like 2 full scale helis, as well as the possibility for rides in a third for $40/person if we can get permission. Cost is $30, and that includes your T-shirt, $5.00 worth of raffle tickets, and a nice group photo of the event. Sat night there will be a BBQ for $5.00/person, followed by night flying. Last year we had 32 registered pilots, and expect more this time. Since the website is down, you can email me at bonner@tewamoulding.com or call me at (505) 270-5248 for any other info. Hope to see you there.

Just a quick note on the camping, no more than 10 RVs will be allowed on the field for overnight camping, other than that no problems exept like Carl said, no hook ups.

Al,

No, My trailer is actually my father's, and it is not available. Also, I still have your chair. I keep bringing it out but you are being unsociable. Been flying at Baloon Fiesta? How's the e-raptor coming?

Bushy,

Yes, we will have extra T-shirts for sale $10 ea if I remember correctly. We only ordered 100, so if we run short we will do an other run if there is enought demand.

Bill,

The Heli service out of Santa Fe is interested in coming down and giving demo flights. Can we get permission from open spaces for that?

Everyone come have a great time with us.

Thanks,

Carl

Hi Carl,
Not a problem, if they want to bring down another full scale heli thats great. The only factors we are concerned about are that they stay within the FARs and of course that they stay safe. Other than that full scale helis are allowed! We will try to park them by the R/c car parking lot. Let me know if you need anything else. Also I will be staying out at the field in an RV as well, more than anything to make sure all is well at night since we will be closing, but not locking the gate. I will be there friday night as well, so if you have some coming out to the field late on friday, give them my cell so if they have any problems or can't find the place. (505) 450-2743. Should be fun!! PS. If you should have any full scales that wish to park there helis at an airfield over night, I'm sure I can make some arrangements with West Mesa Aviation at Double Eagle II airport, and will gladly help transporting people.

Carl,
Also on the demo rides, the only other requirement is of course they will have to produce proof of proper insurance to operate in that capacity.
