The Sacramento Valley Rotory Wings invites you to the "OctoberFly" 2004 Fun Fly.

When: October 1, 2 & 3

Where: SVRW flying site @ Mather Regional Park, Eagles Nest Rd & Kiefer Blvd., Sacramento, CA.

Events for: Novice, intermediate & expert, plus auto for dollars (Jason is disqualified), drag racing, night flying, indoor kart racing & more!

No closing down the field for events or demos! We'll shut things down for a brief pilots meeting and if we have a full scale heli scheduled we'll have to shut things down for landing/take off. Last year we just had one, this year I anticipate no more than one.

Legal Notice: The SVRW OctoberFly '04 is an AMA sanctioned event. Proof of current AMA membership will be required in order to fly. Application for AMA membership will be available at the event.

The SVRW will be serving a Saturday evening BBQ dinner. On the menu is BBQ rib-eye steak -OR- BBQ chicken, baked potato, salad and liquid refreshment for $13.

The most up to date information can be found at:

See you there!

SVRW.COM website is back on-line!
http://www.svrw.com/svrw_of.html

Pre-registration is available this year!

The registration booth was a busy place last year, too busy in fact. I've come up with a few ways to speed things up... so have a look!

thanks,

UPDATE:

Planning for the fun fly is comming along.

The events this year are:
novice
intermediate
spot autos
drag racing
micro heli challenge

The Sac Metro UH-1 is going to do a demo for us. I'd like for them to drop a load of water, I'm still working on the specifics.

Another featured demo is "beast vs. bi-plane". Sort of a spin on "stupid pet tricks" as things wind down late in the day.

One other demo to mention is that Erich, Jason & Alan Jr. will band together again and do another dual choregraphed demo. Last year this went over pretty well... Time for Danny to join in!

Also,
Kiefer Blvd. is closed due to construction. From south of the field you now have to enter from Eagles Nest Rd.

Thang,

Novice events will begin at about 10:00am on Saturday.

- 30 second hover
hold a hover for what you think is 30 seconds. we start the timer when the skids leave the ground, stop time when skids touch down. you try to get to as close to 30 seconds as you can (without using the timer in your Tx)

-pad hop
take off and land on a sequence of numbered pads.

-heli maze
navigate through a forest of 3/16" balsa sticks.

- bottle knock
knock over some bottles.
