Welcome to Muncie Indiana - Thursday August 15

Russ Deakin's 3-D NT

Russ is here from England on behalf of Model Helicopter World Magazine. Russ writes the Close Encounters column and this is one of the models that has been reviewed in M.H.W. The model is extremely radical and makes use of many new features. Most noticeable is the sliding flybar collective pitch mechanism which removes the need for a washout assembly. The model uses an O.S. 91 FX engine, fitted with a lotterle slide carb and Hatori 700 tuned pipe. The benefit of this engine system is that the model runs zero nitro fuel with just 12 % oil. It can also be flown from a very low r.p.m of 1300 for lazy 3-D, up to 1900 r.p.m for really extreme 3-D. The model is being flown with NHP Razor Pro 710 mm blades, 95 mm tail blades and a CSM 540 gyro. The performance of the model is quite stunning over a wide speed range and it runs incredibly quiet.

Neat! Ta Mate. Who is that mowing the grass? Anyone think Jeff is having a good time?

The wide shot is cool, gotta be single lens, can't see any stitching.

Tell that to the people using golf carts!

Haha. I informed the local guys here that if I ever showed up in a set of those fashion specs to promptly dislodge them from my head with a sharp whack.

I think the welding glasses that this guy is sporting came with the "velcro shoe lace conversion kit" that he has as well.

Thanks for the photo's, great for those of us that have to live vicariously through you guys who made it.

Hmm...that's not what I'd be doing with virtual reality specs.

Imagine the fun of having your own holodeck. Would anyone ever venture outside anymore?

I haven't heard someone refer to pants as "britches" in a long time.

Anyways, who looks cooler Jeff G. or the welding glasses guy? They are both pretty hip, its hard to decide, lol!
