Bart gets into the negative numbers when it comes to tail slide pullouts, though. I don't want to compete with his negative elevation!

Bart doesn't mind. He has enough preassembled parts ready to bolt on that he doesn't bat an eye at crunched tail booms.

Here's the way it's been explained to me. We're gonna cook the carrots , put em on sticks, and then poke em in the ground. We figured that cooking them to make em soft would be best. This is something totally new to us so plese give me some feedback on your guy's thoughts on this. Just looking for something fun to do.

Jason, Dan and I flew today. Everything went great, no Birds ate dirt... Jason and Dan pretty much hovered all day breaking in new engines, it made me look like a pro.

Everything went well that is, up until the point when I was walking the Trex 450 out to run the 4th battery pack through it and DROPPED my 9303 on the hard asphalt. Broke the Timer(Trainer) and Idle Up switches clean off.

So much for a nice day of flying.

Everything went well that is, up until the point when I was walking the Trex 450 out to run the 4th battery pack through it and DROPPED my 9303 on the hard asphalt. Broke the Timer(Trainer) and Idle Up switches clean off
I think i night have the switches here if you need them and that is all you messed up ..

Yup... definitely all that is wrong. On the 9303, the two upper, left switches. Trainer switch and Idle Up switch. You have those???

Ps... Do I know you, have we flown together?

Of the guys that I have flown with, the only ones I know here on RR by name is Dan (DanBoone) and Jason (AMainMaker). I am pretty sure Stu, Dave, Tim and others are out here, but don't know them by RR name.

Speak up if you know me so I can add you to my buddies list, (Ya know the short, fat, bald guy that scares you when he flies).

Thanks for the TowerHobbies link. They have the EXACT switches that are used in the JR. And have the ones that I broke in stock. They are even Jewel brand same as what is in the JR X9303 and the color coding on the switch body is even the same.

I just ordered them.

25 mph winds... that's not going to stop you from flying

At the DE funfly in april... we were flying in consistant 30 - 35... with gusts to 45. There was lots of flying! Just couldn't do your best moves.

I am not a strong flyer (far from it)... and after enough proding from everyone... I finally took the 600 out. It surprised me... not to bad actually! Helis actually fly allot better that planks (love that "it's a board about 8" wide" post ) in the wind.

If you happen to have 25... that is not enough wind to not get out there and get togeather, hang out, BS, and have fun. The flying is just a small part of the fun anyways

At least it's not calling for rain

Go Fly!! Have Fun!!

(Sorry to just jump in on your thread... it just seemed kinda silly of those not going because of 25 mph winds.)

Is there an area for my son to run a TMaxx nitro? Got Dirt?

Should be a good kick-off to the season. Can't be any worse than the storms that blow thru Al's Fun Fly every year.

Good for autos.

If anyone is interested, I have a new, partially built Trex 600 Nitro standard kit I would sell for $300. If you let me know tonight before 11 or so, I can put it in the truck.
A friend of mine won this kit at IRCHA last year and has had to take a break from the hobby for a while. I bought it from him but the cost of gearing it up has put a damper on the project. I don't really want to sell it but it's gonna cost me more to keep it!

Matt

PS, my buddy started the assembly. You would need to go over it very closely as it was his first attempt at putting one together.

Currently spoken for!!!

Thanks

I just wanted to thank Terry and everyone else involved in putting this together. It was a GREAT time. Even with the wind and occasional rain, it was a blast! Also thanks to all the pilots that put on demos and even some that sacrificed their heli's for the cause.

Can't wait to do this again next year!!!!!
Posted by sonnyhad on 04-26-2009 03:17 AM:
Thanks
I had a great time as well, those guys were flying as if there weren't any wind at all! Some great pilots! I guess I learned not to let the wind stop me from flying! I don't know what the wind was out there, but i'd venture a guess at well over 20 mph! The event was awesome, a few sprinkles but it passed and a fun time was had by almost everyone! Thats only because I can't speak for everyone, but it looked like everybody was having fun!
Thanks to all those who made it happen.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the great hospitality at the Fun Fly. It turned out to be a lot of fun despite the challenging weather. I only flew in that much wind one other time. I was impressed at how many pilots were flying, and how many were doing really well at handling the 25mph+ winds. It was great to see everyone and thanks to Terry and the other organizers for putting it on. I will have have a full report on the Fun Fly on another site, along with all my pictures.

See you all soon,

Mark
