Just went out to get one of those new Hirobo 36 engines. The box says "Made in Japan" and for the price, a Japanese engine is well worth it.

Don't be fooled, it is a piece of junk made in China, similar to Magnum and SC engines.......

Just wonder how many more products Hirobo have using "misprinted information" to attract sales.....

Whoa, it's like Hirobo using Taiwanese bearings instead of their country's superior ones. This is just annoying, it's like they're trying to save money & sell kits with lower quality bearings. I'm happy to pay a bit more for kits that include Japanese bearings.

Ok my turn to speak up!

The Hirobo 36 Motor - Piece of Junk?
I would love to know how much time you have put on this motor to come to this conlcusion? Break in procedure, heli it was flown in, Temp it was run, Fuel and Muffler combo that you used to determine that this is a piece of Junk.

After I have seen a person that I know work with one of these motors, That I know can tune and properly test motors then I will respect his opinion.

About the bearings coming in the Hirobo kits.. I would like to know were your failures happened. How many hours on the heli, Did you grease or oil the bearings? What maintenance did you do to keep your heli in good condition.

I have had many hirobos and never had a bearing failure ever. I doubt I am lucky as I have had quite a few of them..

Please show me the results of your findings.. so I can make a decision if I should complain also!

You don't ge the point do you?

No insult intended, I don't think you got the point.

I paid for "made in Japan" product and got Chinese ****.

I do not care if it is 24K gold plated or if it puts out 4PS.

Its' kinda like buying the Volkswagen Jetta. A German car made in Mexico...... At least they disclose the info on the sticker on that one...... So is it a German engineering marvel or a Mexican POS?
It's interesting to know but it's way too little information here to make any kind of judgement..........

The engine may have been made in China, but the BOX was made in Japan.

I have a Jet lathe made in Taiwan, the year after I bought it they stopped making them in Taiwan and started to make them in China, the quality went WAY down, the price came down about $900 too,,, this guy that has one of the lathes made in China was bragging that I paid to much,,, but I could plainly see I had a better product !!

(just what I know)

Hirobo .36

This motor is made by Shuwa industries for Hirobo just outside of Tokyo. The same company also makes motors for HPI, Tamiya, and JR I believe. The engine brand name is Tokei and has a very nice facility in Japan.

I have seen the facility and Mr. Tsuno does a very nice job. Sorry the motor did not work for you, but some cannot make OS's and YS's etc work for them. That does not qualify it as a **** product.

Besides, look at other maufacture helis, they are all using the same Thailand bearings in their helis, even domestically. What's up with that gripe? They work.

Just the other side for equal time.
