Well it took 3 weeks of phoning and emailing all over North America. I finally got a hold of somebody at Yamaha who knows something about it. They are sending me some promo literature and a video tape of it in action. The remotely controlled crop dusting version starts around $80K. The AUV package which comprises of 2 of em and all the navigation equipment, computers ect... lists around $1,000,000. But that is negotiable. I want one of theses puppies. Now all I have to do is win the lotto.

yamaha pics/specs/webpage?

Hey twobeers how about some more info for us. What about pics, specifications, a web page. If I'm like most of the guys, I'd love to see it and read about it even if I can't afford it. It would answer so many questions about size, powerplant, mechanics, disc size, navigation equipment, designer, age of the design, carrying capacity, etc! WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT!!!?

R-MAX

The R-MAx is a jointly produced product by both Yamaha and Hirobo,Its not available for consumer use in the US,and is only available for RnD projects, and special applications in the US by organizations that are approved by Yamaha under strict govt guidelines,(supposedly).
Theyre used in Japan for cropdusting and photo apps.
If you do a search in here, youll find that someone from Yamaha had posted info on the machine,as well as a link to the Co's US webpage on it that was different than the one yamaha has.
pretty cool machine!

How about the Bergen Industrial Twin?

http://www.bergenrc.com/IndustrialTwin.asp

Only $4000. Looks like it would be a workhorse.
Of course at that price you might as well get a turbine.

I think I've seen the Yamaha on display about a year ago. They
couldn't fly it because insurance didn't cover that weight of
vehicle.
