First off, I have to tell you I'm a newbie.
Hovering around..... in the backyard.
I have a Sceadu 50 with the Hirobo 570 blades.
Would like to get extra set(s) of blades
for the crash that I am sure will happen soon enough.

What blades do ya'll recommend that are good quality and
affordable? Should I try 600s?
Obviously I don't need Top Shelf carbon blades yet.
Can I find "good" blades for around $50.

John

Try a pair of funkeys from helihut.com for about $50. I fly a pair, and they seem to work well.

Thanks, John Cadwell

You might want to check in to the FRP blades from A/B Models. They are fiber glass and only $33 for a set of Fiberglass 600 mm semi-symmetrical.
I also have a new Sceadu 50 which I don’t yet have blades for. I think I will get a set of FRP 600 MM semis for it.
See this thread http://www.runryder.com/showtopic.h...51&topicid=7960 for more info.

The stock 570's are semis. The FRP's are semis. The FK's are symmetrical. Can you do anything inverted at all? It doesn't sound like it. The FRP would probably work fine. As for the larger blades, I bought them so I could put more petal to the metal... As a beginner you won't need all the power available. It does auto better with the 600's. If you do get bigger blades, you might need bigger tail blades also...

Thanks, John Cadwell

CMTs and GoQuick fiberglass blades are symmetrical and under $50 at HeliProz. I fly them and they seem to work well.

What about Woodies?

If your a beginner woodies are the most cost effective blades for about $25. I have 600's on mine and they work well. As you get into forward flight then try the Glass and Carbon bldes. Just my 2 cents.
