For myself I find the ikon units& msh very easy to use and set up and the default values very close.

Learning new stuff all the time can be annoying especially when you just want to relax and enjoy your time.

So ya it comes down to what " floats your boat".

I'm just a little tired of hearing the same excuses for not doing something.

This is about the point where the topic takes a serious downturn. There is no need to insult other pilots because of what they enjoy and prefer to fly.

I would have said FBL units that didn’t require colour identification were the majority not the minority.

With a bit of care and an appropriate power supply setup a FBL unit is very easy to get flying these days. The only one I’ve ever had trouble with has been the BeastX and it has coloured lights so doesn’t count in this discussion.

This topic has been brought up numerous times by the same people complaining about the same thing over and over in the last several years

When they have had enough of my snarky mouth

Sorry. I've read this forum on and off for years, seen a gasser thread the other day I was interested in and signed up.

I like the vintage stuff and can understand the desire for manufacturers to build flybars yet. I still fly my Allouette with my old Futaba 6m. I been made fun of because I got a antique radio with a 6 foot antenna sticking out of it.

Go to the RC club and you got the airplane guys complaining about the helicopter guys. So the helicopter guys have to go clear to the other end of the field. Then you got the 3D guys complaining about the scale guys so the scale guys have to be on one side of the runway, and the 3D guys on the other side. And then you got the scale guys complaining about the vintage guys because they're taking up all the flightline time to get their bird in the air.

Which is all why I quit the RC club years ago and built my own private RC field. No club politics. No AMA. Just a half dozen friends that get together to have fun. And nobody complains about one of us that spends all day and two dozen takeoff attempts getting a runout MW54 with bad bearings in it lit

Flybar helis ARE slow. That's the point of them. It gives you time to think your way into, through, and out of a maneuver.

We need slow helis back.

I miss the early days w/ FB. More challenging to build, setup and fly plus I feel more connected.

That’s the point and beauty of flybarless. Every heli is both. If it’s too fast for you, turn it down. My FBL aren’t fast at all.

Exactly! You can adjust a FBL to go as slow or fast as you want!!!! You can set up multiple conditions on your transmitter switch. Can't do that with a flybar. You can make it slower than it already is, but you are so limited.

I actually find my flybarred helis faster! Slower in a straight line, yes, but I find flybarred helis more responsive and snappy. Remember crack moves?!

I still don't have a problem with my flybars. I don't hate FBL, but I get along great with the flybars that I have, so I don't have a reason to switch.
Even back in the day some guys talked like "mine is better than this", or "I can't believe that you have that, it is so last year". Maybe some people are just wired to act that way.

The more snappy response of flybar off center for crack moves was years ago with the early FBL systems. They haven’t had that advantage in years.
