Old mechanical rate gyro and old tube RC radio.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Gyrofreak, that looks like the guts of an old Kraft gyro. If so, I use one in my Heliboy that I fly occasionally. Still works as good as it did 35 years ago. I also have a Controlare Mule Mark II sitting on my bench that is being used to fly a single channel airplane. I cheat however, mine has a single channel emulator and a 2.4 gig module in it. I do have the original guts for it if I want to put it back origintl

I used to have a "Mighty Mule" single pushbutton controller. Push once and hold to turn right, twice then hold to turn left. The airplane had a rubber band escapement, don't forget to wind it before flight ..
For you youngsters, the plane was trimmed to fly with a slow steady climb, to descend to simply put it in a constant steady turn, to land you timed it till it ran out of fuel.

It was fun wasn't it. With the single channel emulator I don't have to worry about the escapement running down and I get to use real servos. In addition to the rudder, the 1/2A plane I'm flying has three position throttle and kick up elevator, compound escapement style. The plane is just a used three channel I modified to fly rudder only, but I have a Lil Esquire framed up to fly this Spring.
I started flying over 50 years ago with a Goldberg Jr Falcon with a single channel Citizenship rig in it, I've been wanting for years to give it another try. So far I'm having a blast.
