Hi,

I've flown my X5 formula today until the Heli explodet while i was doing aileron tic-tocs! Boom strike!
I use the lower formula head with the stretch kit and 550 blades and new red dampeners. High head speed with 90% throttle. Everything on the head was tight and the blades extra tight screwed!
I had some light tail touches other days before in very hard maneuvers! But this time it happened while i was doing normal tic-tocs.
Its a new heli with 10 flights so far and never had an x5 before.
So does someone have experience with boom strikes on this heli? Maybe it can't handle aggressive 3d flying?
Or its because of the 550 stretch?

Greetings: Andy

Hello,

GAUI X5 Formula, and V2 can handle all the aggressive 3D flying you can muster.

However if your running 550's I would highly recommend the taller Formula Head from the V2. In all my years of flying the GAUI X5, I have never boom struck this model. Even with worn out dampers. As you can see in the video below Mitch Marozas is pounding this this...Even crashes it.
