What is best HV Tail servo to use? I want to get rid of my regulator setup and simplify. I have always used Futaba bls 256hv (discontinued).
Is the new new BLS 276sv sbus2 as good as the 256?
Is there a JR equivalent?

Thanks in advance

You might not be getting a lot of feed back on this question because there are so many good tail servos out there.

In the last year I installed the below servos in different models. Each has performed flawlessly. If I were honest, I can't recommend one over the other. They all just work.

Know that the MKS takes a special horn. The spline is non standard. It's much larger than the typical Futaba/JR. My impression is that it also draws the most current of the three.

You didn't say what gyro you are using but Futaba gyros really work well with Futaba servos. I'm running my 276 with a Futaba 750 gyro and it really does perform well. Notice it is by far the weakest of the three and quite a bit slower than the MKS.

The XPert is a bit of an experiment for me. It is really working well and seems to draw very little current. It runs cool and performs well. The detachable lead is really handy. Notice the XPert has ludicrous amounts of torque. Not just a lot for a tail servo. It has a lot of torque, period.

As an add on... If you find you want a Futaba 276, buy it here -> http://www.rcjapan.net/index.php?ma...oducts_id=15791

They are available and affordable.

I found a 276sv in the states. When I order from RC Japan I always order a ton of stuff. Just need a single servo for this build. Replacing a JR 8900g. It is a low voltage setup. Tired of the mess of wires with a Scott Gray HVX.
I bought an IKON2 and cyclics are JR 8917hv servos. Ikon accepts 2s lipo. Will finally be able to run everything at the same voltage.

Xpert: saw this servo and wondered whom the actually manufactures this brand. I struggle to trust the offshoot brands. BK servos, Outrage (a while back). Try to stick with the big names. Have Hitech on my planes, but combos of JR/Futaba on all my helis. Except my Trex 250.

Thanks WJVAIL

There have been several threads addressing who exactly makes servos today. See below links. I, like you, would really like to find the source of this river of servos. I'd like to know that the gear train in my MKS or Xpert servos came from ________ and that even if these names disappear, they can still be serviced by the parent company.

For the time being I've given up on finding where this swarm of servos is spawning from. There are some really kick-ass servos that aren't Futaba/JR/HiTec and I've decided that I would be missing something if I refused to use them only because I don't know their ultimate souse.

The JR MP82G WV and the MPH83G Hall Effect are excellent tail servos and are at JR Americas in stock. I have one of each.

MPH83G
Have this one on a TT820. Never got it and FLB to communicate well.
The 8900g was great, but requires lots of extra wiring. have 3 Fut 256hvs that have worked great. Bought a BLS276sv. Hope it is as good as the predecessor. The Expert servos mentioned above are intriguing, but I am a brand whore. Like to stay with what performs well and is reliable, regardless of cost. Being officially old now, i will wait until more man money becomes available to complete projects.
Thanks for input.

Futaba servo
So.... I had forgot why this servo is so expensive.
Because it is worth it!!!

Eliminated a yard of wire and a Regulator. Anyone want a JR 8900 cheap?

Too late now but the BLS274SV is the same servo without the metal center case so is quite a bit cheaper and a bit lighter.

60% of the time, it works every time!
