If you haven't noticed lately, the parking lots are now inundated with handicapped parking spaces that are always occupied... and often by some fat over weight individual or some other lazy individual who cried to a healthcare professional for a HC placard that really doesn't need one...
Here in Ft Hood I see too many vehicles that have a DV (disabled Vet) licence plate (it also gives you the right) Parked in HC parking... But many DVs have absolutely no need for such assistance. Often is their significant other (wife or kids) that simply uses the vehicle to gain easy parking.

In the video below AFAIC, These are the only people that should ever be allowed such parking privileges and rightfully so.

I was pulling into a bowling parking lot and I normally park quite a ways from the main entrance. As I was walking towards the main entrance this jalopy pulls into the handicap spot near the front door. Now there were plenty of empty normal parking spots near the front door but this guy pulls into the handicap spot because he has handicap sticker hanging from his mirror. Now he and his wife and kids all get out and I don't see anything wrong physically with any of them I follow him into the bowling and I see them all get their shoes and then go over to the ball racks and picking out those heavy balls, still I don't see anything wrong with any of them and they go to their alley and they start bowling, still no sign of any handicap. So I briefly write a little note and go outside and place it on their windshield. The note says, Your only handicap appears to be mental, you are an idiot.
Another time I saw this hot looking gorgeous woman get out of here little red sport car convertible, which she had pulled into an obviously marked handicap spot. Again I short distance away were plenty of none handicap spots. She particularly now perkyly jumps out of her little red sports car and quickly steps (in high heels) to wherever she was going. Obviously she had no physical handicaps so I left her my proverbial note stating Your only handicap appears to be mental, you are an idiot.
.
Since I see so much of the handicap abuse I think I will print up some nice looking notes that when folded the outside says "VIOLATION"

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

How about the young healthy kids riding around the department stores in the electric carts meant for the handicapped. In my area, I've only seen one race of kids doing this so sorry if that appears racist but that is an honest observation from my point of view. Also, they appear to intentionally block the aisles for the rest of us walking folks. I speak up and get berated at times. I've mentioned to many a store manager that if they don't fix this, I'm going elsewhere. I think they are too scared to do anything about it.

**Handicap means having a physical or mental condition that makes ordinary activity more difficult than they are for others.**

Good thing that borderline "Grumpy Old Men Gripe" doesnt qualify as a handicap...althought it seems it should. Then again, we fly rotary toys, mental in itself.

While I agree there is abuse, priviledge handicap parking recipients does not have to satisfy anyones "visual expectations".

Careful with the mental notes, one of those "mentals" might retaliate on the spot.

Here in Florida, the hanging sign you put on rear view mirror has recipients drivers license number, so they have to be with vehicle when used.

If you're really that bothered and or suspicious, consider just calling the law.

In reference to your above comment, sorry Pete, those handicap parking spots are for persons with physical problems or mental problems that prevent or reduced mobility. That's why a wheel chair is pictured on the signs.
You don't have to use a wheel chair to have a handicap sticker and use the handicap spot, but you do need to be mobility handicapped, like a cane or difficulty walking.

given the numbers of people with missing limbs or otherwise unable to walk vs the number of HC parking spaces... simply having a cane or "difficulty" is no longer sufficient in my book.

good story... problem is that this is treating the end result... it needs to start at the point of issuance followed by some automated system to prevent abuse in the first place.

I had a fellow classmate, double amputee (at the knee) one day came in late to class... he was a little wet from the rain, then I noticed one of his hands was scraped up... asked if he was ok he said yes, then said he had to park at the end of the parking lot cause all the handicapped parking spaces were taken up. I knew that alot of those individuals with both DV and HC tags didnt really need the parking spots... they took them cause they didnt want to walk through the rain... and more so that patrol officers wouldnt be out there checking due to the weather as well.

Abuse of the HC spots needs to be actively enforced at both ends.

What about autistic kids..
I have 3 of them my eldest 22 yr.old has mental age of a 12 yr old... anything that makes my wife trip to supermarket easier I am all for it..
Trouble is in this world unless you have a physical disability no one knows or understands, or thinks your taking the pee out of the system which I agree some do..
When ever i have been challenged I always say your welcome to come and stay at my house for a week and scrape faeces off the toilet wall where kids have accidents or at 3am in morning having to shower a kid that is almost a man due to having a fit and messing himself or having to meticulously plan any trip that most do without thinking..
It takes a tonne of effort To ensure teenager and kids are as happy in their world as is possible with their limitations..

yep probably true...
but it is nice to know in busy times you can get a space near entrance...
I used to be just as judgemental until I had 3 kids with learning difficulties... it does give you added empathy and understanding.. my attitude is unless you are in the same situation or have extensive experience, there are much bigger problems in the world than winging about a parking space being taken up..

**Handicap means having a physical or mental condition that makes ordinary activity more difficult than they are for others.**
and "feelings of Entitlements" is a mental sickness that drives the Narcissist, thereby, if a person feels he/she is entitled to park in a Handicapped spot yet has no physical handicap, then he/she may just have a mental sickness.

^it's^ a catch 22

to add, my mother's friend had a small bit of cancer, where ??, I was not told,, but she did not have a mental or physical handicap, in fact she was rather healthy and was later cured, yet the Dr got her a pass for her car's window that allowed her to park in a handicapped spot,,, and she did,, I thought that was wrong

and just because some one gets a parking ticket doesn't mean it will ever be paid,, the City of Rutland Vt wrote off $400,000 in unpayed parking tickets (note that I don't know how many years they piled up), I can only imagine how much Cal wrights off

I do not really care who parks in a handicap spot; you know why? Because anyone with the balls to park there either really needs that spot or can afford the fine or lost wages due to court hearings. That, and I simply don't have the right to judge someone who probably possesses the proper tags and say they can't park in a handicap spot just because they don't "look" handicapped to me; it's not at all for me to decide. That's between that individual and their doctor, or the police.

Some people have good days and bad days, some have temporary mobility issues, some have unseen disabilities and a doctor and the DMV saw fit to authorize a tag for them. And frankly, none of that is anyone else's business to say who can park where. Nowadays, people have a hard time knowing when and how to get involved in things that ultimately have nothing to do them. Sometimes it's better to leave things alone if it doesn't involve you directly.

So, instead of getting your drawers all bunched up and passive-aggressive over something you can't control, just relax and let karma take care of them. Instead of griping about it here and effectively doing nothing but leaving notes...call the police and let them leave a love note for the offender.

Whether they respond to the summons or not it will be a pain to get it cleared up if they can't produce the tag. If they don't pay...they end up getting a warrant issued which will be fun the next time they get pull over for an improper lane change.

A long time ago, my wife and I used to get bent when we saw someone violating this policy. We aren't handicapped and don't drive some who is.

Then somewhere along the way, we realized we weren't given a badge and had no secret super knowledge to determine guilt.

At that point, we picked up your attitude.

Being married to someone who has MS, and who needs to walk, but has very limited endurance, I have pretty strong feelings about non handicapped people illegally parking in the HC spots. It is a very hard thing to have to see these "entitled" people park just to save a few steps and prevent my wife from being able to get exercise she needs, but can't because of her endurance.
