Has anyone tried one of these? The recoil starter is really cool but I don't find anything online like reviews or users.
I have a Kalt Baron that uses a belt starting system and I'm thinking this might work?

The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!

I haven't tried one and I guess I'm happy with what I have but it's cool!

I always try to keep the weight down at every point I can.

I really like your signature! I'll have to try saying it 5 times in a row real fast (when nobody is around to hear me).

What size Kalt Baron would it go in?

Geezer Joe,
Yeah, thanks! I came up with this many years ago after I bought my first and only piece of property. It was one of the cheaper lots because it didn't border the seaside like some of the other pieces. I've been there for thirty years!

The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!

Dyehard,

I would put it in a Baron 50. As you may already know, the Baron 50 is started by means of a short belt around the flywheel. Just thought this might be a nice feature for this particular heli.

The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!

Even better since it was inspired by a real "Lot" (piece of property)
I've always enjoyed reading people's signatures.

I guess I should have one of my own.

Thanks for letting me know how you come up with it.

I've got a Baronstar 55 I fly occasionally and have flown several Baron 28, Baron 50 and Baron 60 helis over the years, so I've got some experience with them. Like all the old helis, they are quite heavy by modern standards. I doubt that a 45/46 size motor will do much more than get a Baron 50 into a hover, it would be very under powered and have no reserve left. Be it a Baron 50 or a Baron 60 we always used a 60 size engine in them.
BTW, most Baron 50s came with a 60 size motor mount, so the 46 wouldn't even mount up without custom making a motor mount.

Allen,
Yeah I see the motor mount is .60 sized. I have an OS 61RFN-H which I can use. I agree the .46 will probably not suffice.

The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!
