I’ve always bought from Tower. I’m in the market for a few new OS engines. Tower has all heli engines on backorder. I checked Advantage Hobby, same situation.
Alternatives with engines in stock?

Thanks, Matt

I bought a 1.05 HZ-R Direct from RCJapan last year. Cheaper than you can get from Tower, and surprisingly fast shipping.

Generally, I try to buy from shops here in the U.S. However, if I'm going to get "middlemanned" to the tune of > $100 then I'll look elsewhere.

Matt,

You've most likely heard this, but the US importer, Hobbico, filed for bankruptcy. I believe you will see Futaba and OS items dry up from domestic shops as stock is depleted and until this is resolved.

As jbjones said, RCJapan is a very good alternative. Admittedly their checkout process could be streamlined and shipping might take a few days longer, but at least you will have access to the products you want and you'll likely pay less. Helpful hint... As you shop RCJapan, drop the last 2 digits for a rough estimate for the USD price.

I've been buying most of my OS parts from RCJapan for a few years now. Shipping time really isn't too bad, usually less than 2 weeks, and the pricing usually makes it worth the wait.

I've been out of the hobby for quite awhile but I'm back at again.
Glad I didn't sell everything as my wife suggested :-)

I needed a new connecting rod for an OS.91SZ pumped engine but could only find one place that had one in stock and that was their last one.
I quickly ordered it so it should be here tomorrow or Monday.

I'm glad to know that RCJapan has parts for OS engines.

I figured out that ya have to go to the OS website to get the part numbers you need so you can find the right parts on RCJapan.

I don't mind the extra few days to get em'.

Thanks for the post!

Joe
