Hi,

I have a Trex700N DFC nitro with Vbar 5.3 Silverline FBL system. I want to use my External governor an Aerospire Multi Gov. and I like to get some help. How I make the connectins to the receiver. I am using a Futaba S-Bus 7008SB receive. Also for the sensor I will be using Spectrum Backplate Rev.Limit sensor.
Will it work this way with Vbar system ?

Also, I need to have this governor working with with my Idleup swtich. I do not want to assign a separate swtich.

I will appreciate any help.

Regards,

Arshad

Good news is yes, it (should) absolutely be possible. I ran a trex 700N for years with a multigov on vbar 5.x. I say "should" because i was on a JR 9303. But, I don't see futaba being the problem. But, no promises ;-)

The bad news is I can't remember exactly how I had it set up. That was 8 years ago. Have you watched Mr. Mel's 'setting up nitro gov' (episode 11) and 'nitro gov remake' (episode 23) videos?

Those videos go in to all the detail of how to configure the vbar software to expect gov signal on the throttle channel.

I remember the vbar side of it all being pretty trivial. Most of the work is done on the multigov itself--setting up the RPMs, etc.

Also, I ran a regular magnetic hall sensor on the clutch bell. But, I don't think the multigov cares where your RPM data is coming from, so long as it is good data.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. I may be able to recall. But, I definitely don't remember enough to give a walk through.

if it ain't broke, break it.

You can run an Sbus cable to your Vbar and still use channels 1 - 7 on your receiver.

Hook your gov up to the throttle channel on your receiver. Controlling setting the speed might be the problem depending on what channel your gov can use. Use the flight conditions in your transmitter to set a different rate for normal, idle up and hold to set the speed

Hope that helps
Jeff
