Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

walkera showed a hybrid drone @ ces 2018. Gas engine charged on board lipos boasting more than 2hrs flight time with camera payload. 1200mm hex hybrid. I had one bad prop on my octo and the z15 gimbal couldn't handle it. I'm curious how modern gimbals tolerate gas engine pulses.

I would not call that autorotation, the other motors are still working and making up for the failed motor, cut the power to all motors and see if it autorotates.

That's limp home mode right there. My truck has that, except you can actually steer and halfa$$ drive the truck during that operation.

Autorotation? No!

Quad / Hex / Octo -copters do not autorotate.
Their flight stability is derived solely from from controller power to the motors.
Take away the multi-rotor's motor power, it flies like a brick.

Those videos show how a multi-rotor can survive a single motor failure.
You can find videos of multi-rotors surviving multiple motor failures
None of them are "autorotating"
