Anyone know the reason, I buy my fuel from Amains! Looks like it is being discontinued, really? I hope there is a good reason for this!

If anyone can point me to buying more heli fuel, I am open to suggestions!

Fuel procurement frustration

I remember when I first started flying nitros. .you could walk into the hobby store and plunk down 12.95 for a gallon of Powermaster...We just had a new Hobbytown store open in St. George..I went in for the grand opening..of course they had no fuel..the store is more Drones and indoor hobbies..the owners said they might be bringing in fuel..CP..I told 'em that's the most expensive fuel out there..do yourself and your customers a favor and look at some other brands!..I like The price and have had good times with Magnum fuel..look into that.

Being in the retail end of this here's my observation. We carry Morgan fuels the Heli and airplane blends have slowed to a crawl over the last few years. The car stuff especially 20% still sells great. In retail you stock what sells and cut the slow movers as you can't have dead inventory.

Hobby Town in Tucson has a web site you can order Byron Rotor Rage, or Power Master by the case. I am not sure if it can come to your house it kinda looks like it is set up to arrive for pick up at the shop. I have seen Morgan car fuel, but no Morgan CP30 there....

They had a couple shops in the phoenix area but they shut down. Hobby town is the last remaining shop in Tucson.

Yep. That's what I did 2 summers ago. Still got a little left. Been stored in a dark dry basement off the floor in the original boxes.

Ordering fuel online and having it shipped to the hobby store..I don't know how many times I've heard "the fire dept. Will only let me keep so much fuel in my store that it's un-economical to stock it"..how much does the store charge for that service?

That would never work. 1 formula for planes or helis might be remotely feasible, but for the performance-minded crowd (cars/boats) it would be tantamount to renouncing one's religion.

I wouldn't want to see the fuel mfgs do this for any part of the RC hobby. I kind of like choices and think it's a good thing. I don't mind ordering directly from Byron...there isn't a hobby shop anywhere close. I'm just glad that they gave me that option many years ago.

The glow engines we all run use glow plugs and are basically the same..we all fly; drive; boat the pi$$ out of 'em..of course concessions would have to be made..but would you rather say in the future "I used to fly the crap outta my nitro heli's..when fuel was available" or "I still fly my nitro's every weekend"

My Moki's use 5% Omega
My OS's use 15% Cool Power
My OS's in Heli's use 30% Cool Power Heli blend
My OS' 4 Stokes use 25% to 30% Pro Pattern

All Morgan fuels, all a different nitro, oil makeup and content.

I have zero worries about availability in the future. It should be a non-issue anywhere in the States, I think.

The fuel itself is a very simple solution. It's just Alcohol with a lube package and an oxidizer(nitro). If, for whatever reason, Byron decides to stop blending and shipping the magic fluid, I'll call my buddy wjvail in Meridian. "Hey Bill I need 4 cases of 30%".
