What's your point did you really think any tax reform was coming? Our system is severely broken and isn't getting fixed any time soon I doubt if we had a Dem in anything would be much different aside from the total hatred towards the current administration.

Trump can't enact tax reform without Congress.

Congress does not want to simplify taxes...too many tax lawyers.

It doesn't matter who is President...we will always have a corrupt swamp for Congress.

When haven't you owed federal taxes? Unless of course you were on the receiving end in the form of handouts which I know you are not.

No sir, I am not. I don't make that much. We do ok, but I have two small children, a stay at home wife, mortgage, etc. Typical Middle Class I suppose. Make less then $74K a year. Don't understand how I could go from getting money back one year, to owing more the next year, when my pay and debt have stayed constant.

Maybe I am wrong? I HATE FEDERAL F%%%%%%G income taxes. Because I KNOW there are MANY, MANY THAT DON'T EVEN PAY THEM. Paying my fair share isn't a problem, never has been.

...same here, wife and I both work our butts off. We also do OK, but the amount they take away (FICA & health) is ridiculous... We could spend less on housing I guess... but then we'd be living downtown with the thugs...

Its sad to think nearly all middle class families are currently one disaster away from bankruptcy at all times.

I get money back every year too but it is because I pre-pay a stupid amount to the FEDs every quarter. Not a good savings plan but sure beats the Feburary/March surprise.

If Trump had the perfect tax plan it would be on the news that Americans will be starving next year. They don't want a fix or help.

I think Will Rodgers said something like:

The difference between death and taxes is the fact death doesn't get worse every time congress meets.

Only half of workers have to worry.....as only half actually pay any net federal taxes....

And Congress probably excludes themselves from paying any taxes.

I have done numerous TRUMP tax calculators, based off of last years taxes. I am screwed, either way. Just swell.

tell you what, if I was the sole earner in a family with growing kids making less than 75k a year i'd be looking for a way to supplement my income because the costs of raising those kids is only going to go up. I hope you have decent medical coverage and a mortgage.

Koppter, you are correct. I am retired military, so I have Tri-care. Not good, not bad. Much better and much worse out there. However, just found out that is going to double and possibly even more come Jan. 1st 18. My mortgage isn't bad, not good, but ok.

My wife hasn't worked since we have been married, as we didn't want someone else raising our kids. We have lived in apartments, etc, for that reason. But because of the way things are going, she will be getting a job after this summer. There doesn't seem to be a choice now.

Just wonderful.
