A friend of mine who has a Multiplex Funcopter (fixed pitch) asks me if it could do loops and rolls and I seriously did not know the answer .
I know there is not much negative ,if any ,at low stick .

Does anyone know ?

Stall turns are possible with some of the fixed pitch models.
IIRC the fixed pitch Honey-Bee was one that I have seen videos of doing this maneuver.

If you have speed and height you could do a sort of loop but everything else gets really messy real quick

I am going to say it is possible, because I have seen it, way back when I was starting to fly helis. The loops where not round, or the rolls axial, but the heli can do a 360 degree rotation in pitch or roll if you do everything right.

My first rolls, even though it was with a collective pitch mini-boy, were done holding the pitch constant, they looked more like a barrel rolls, going up and down in altitude. I did plenty or those, and then moved to true axial rolls with proper collective synch on my next heli.

Again, this stuff is for the real brave, or stupid like I was. lol

One note, do NOT attempt with a free teetering head, things will end rather quickly. You need a rigid or semi rigid head to do aerobatics.

I started on a lite-machines fixed pitch, norvel powered, mechanical gyro heli. I flew the crap out of it.

I could easily do loops and rolls. Just had to do them first when the tank was full cause it had no clunk in the tank, just a metal tube to near the bottom.

They were different looking than with variable pitch, but not bad.

They can but it's not pretty. Make sure you have plenty of altitude.
I had a GMP rebel that would do them. Not very nice. Kind of a waste of time.
I think Gorham did that way back when he won the Nat's with a Cricket.

we did a loop with our hummingbirds, but as D.G said it gets messy, but it is fun.

Here is funcopter doing rough aerobatic routine. You can do pretty much most aeros if you have altitude and a good battery.

Get cranking in FFF n go hard over for rolls n pull back hard for loops. Hold the stick until you’re back upright. Make sure you’re 5 mistakes high
