For the record, EE isn't a site moderator.

RunRyder is not like all those other sites that have moderators who are Forum Police whose job it seems to be to smack people down. You're really pretty much free to post here whatever you like. If a post is way off the mark, someone may point it out to Mark Ryder (the "Ryder" in RunRyder) who will take care of the matter in a civil manner.

As for buying a turbine, that sounds fun. But if you are an AMA member and intend to fly at a site operated by an AMA chartered club, or if you intend to rely upon the AMA liability insurance program, you will need to pursue and obtain an AMA turbine waiver.

Also buying and operating a turbine seems to contradict your statement
the expenses were getting on my nerves
Maybe you're finally past the stage where flying and crashing expenses seem to overwhelm the fun. Hope so.

Enjoy.

Interesting. Looks like he didn't land it nose-in. I guess when you spend that much, no sense in getting confused about orientation at landing.

you will need to pursue and obtain an AMA turbine waiver.
Obtaining a turbine waiver might sound like a real challenge, I assure you if you are proficient in RC modeling and the safety that goes with it, it is not.

The hardest part is locating the right people to do it. Should you ever want to obtain one attend a major even near you, anyone with a waiver will be more than willing to point you in the right direction and help with your test. It is a pretty tight knit group of guys. Oh and make sure you say please and thank you

As for EEngineer, best take every word of what he says to heart. He is a professor after all

Kevens, cool video. Love the FPV stuff. Thanks for sharing.

How much do they charge you for their services?...He made it sound like there are businesses out there that do that.
Yes, they are called hobby shops.

One in particular in Florida charges 30 an hour with a 3 hour minimum. Also a minimum of 250 for assembling a 700 Trex combo if I recall correctly.

Some folks value their time much higher, arent mechanically inclined or simply just want to fly vs repairing.

By the way, did you ask the same question in another forum?
Glad you enjoy it and thank you for commenting on my post. The shop in Florida!, are you talking about the one on Peter's road? If yes, that's one of the places I used to go to when I first started flying. I was in there every other day, lol

Great to hear. Most turbine rc helicopter videos on youtube don't seem to have a video in the cockpit.I thought maybe a handful of peeps like yourself might enjoy it.

Thank you for your comment. I am totally over the crashing part and the days when expenses WERE getting on my nerves. My love for scale rc has grown tremendously since then and have been feeling the urge to get a turbine. Having spent so much time with my friends who own rc turbine helicopters, got me inspired to get my own. As a member of AMA, I am well aware of the turbine waiver.
Enjoy the rest of your day

I haven't personally witnessed a rc turbine crash, from what I understand it's pretty costly. I have yet to see a reckless scale turbine rc pilot, every time I see one in the park, they always fly with extreme caution.I'll make sure to record an other video with nose-in landing.

Thanks for the advise. I did speak with a few peeps on the matter, and not to worry,I am a very polite person. I always watch my language so I don't have to apologize.
