what's the difference between them joining to have their surgeries paid for or you joining just to have your college paid for through the GI Bill?
...the difference is you dont get special treatment for using your GI bill, post 9/11 educational benefits or (in case of Texas) Hazlewood Act benefits... you would know this if you have ever tried to use any of them... Your service to the unit comes first, any education you hope to gain in return for your service is done on your time and must not interfere with your day to day duties.

A Trans-G surgery results is medical issues that directly impact your ability to serve due to hormone therapy, psychotherapy, time off for medical procedures, recovery and the inevitable BS complications that follow due to trying to convert a Chevy to a Ford, Cat to a Dog, Fish to a Bird, MAC to a PC...

If TransG surgery had no impact on day to day activities (unlike an education on your time) then I could care less what you chose to install between your crotch.

well of course you dont... any typical service members use of medical is usually brought on by emergency or routine...

Going transgender is neither an emergency nor routine.... its a choice, and a choice not bound by necessity to any particular need in the military.

...counter to the idea that an education, which can greatly benefit the military in various ways.

LM, as I said, I don't really care what you think or if you agree or disagree with me. I have my opinion as you do.
I will not argue with you. You will not change your mind any more then I will.
Call me a bigot, whatever. Don't care, but I deeply care for our men and women in uniform, and the less stress they have, the more they can focus on the task at hand.
sjgusmc21, I'm with you on this 100%, so I edited my post here

A college degree is earned, and it is earned so you can be a productive part of society and make a descent career and provide for your family.
That is equal to a sex change, how?

you might want to familiarize yourself with the integration of blacks into the armed forces during and post WW II before making a statement that the military is not a good background for social experiments. Tuskegee was called an experiment because bigotry was so strong that there were politicians who actively campaigned against it because of their "research" that blacks could not handle the complexity of flying.

Several of us should familiarize ourselves with the concepts of relavence and maybe even time. My Grandpa was in WW2, he died more than 30 years ago. Decent modest fellow too. Lady Mag would have liked him i think.

Yeah, the Democrats didn't like giving blacks any chances to show that they could get the job done as well or better than anyone.

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

go to a drag show kkopter and tell me you'd like to rely on one of those fruits in combat. If you answer is yes, then you're just being disingenuous.
There's a reason their suicide rates are thru the roof.
