My last helicopter magazine was HeliPilot. It just stopped coming and no one knows why.
It sure would be nice to have Mike Mas back at the helm of Rotory magazine. That was a good mag. I don't know of any Heli magazines. If there is please post it.
I would love to read articles buy James Wang. I remember when he started writing. I knew he was someone that knew what he was talking abought. Turns out he was a helicopter engineer. You learned a lot back then. I wished now that I didn't get rid of my old magazines. Can't even buy them back. I have a old Rotory mag that has a article on two T-rex 700's. I bought them both and still have and fly them.
Someone has a post on RR asking what to do with his old stuff!!!!!
Wish I still had more of my old stuff...

I’ve expressed how much I love Hirobo helicopters a million times and I also love our dearly departed JR helicopters as well. I actually love the stock plastic Hirobos and really enjoy spending huge amounts of money on Hirobo upgrades. I know it makes no financial sense whatsoever but I enjoy it. I also love a bit of good old mechanical complexity. I’d really love an Eagle 3 VPUS.

New brands just don’t have the magic and to me the Chinese and Taiwanese models look like cheap Christmas decorations.

It took a long time for me to get used to ccpm as i have always been a fan of mechanical mixing. for ccpm i still prefer it having bell cranks.

Still my favourite lines. Also like TT and Robbe.

PaulBowen, Magic, WOW I had a few of them and Scout's and Futura's. I have been doing this a long time. LOL
This was and still is a great hobby. If the manufactures don't make money I understand. If they would only make a basic heli with like cheep aluminum frames.
I read the article last night of the two T-rex 700's. They came out in 2008 !!!
I was thinking like they were old junk! Things have changed so fast that you can't keep up. I built a T-rex 500L Dominator and buy my first flight they came out with a 500X.
I remember seeing Alan Szabo doing demo flights with a 90 Raptor, WOW. I still can't fly like that and I have all the new stuff and no flybar.
The more I think of it the better I like my stuff.
This has been a good post.
I now have two new Classic heli's to fly.

Hardly anyone flies here.
Back in South Florida we had lots
of guys flying Sunday.
Last time I flew anything here, there were 3 of us at the field.
My buddy bought a big mower to cut the area, then the owner decided
to use the fields for a hay crop.
So, rc pretty much ended there.

Find another spot. Start a club. You may be able to find guys with like interest to start a club. Check with AMA for fields around you. There may be something you can do.
Good Luck

Now, time for something a little more salacious...

Blitz Avro
Hirobo GPH
Hirobo Shuttle
Hirobo Sceadu
Hirobo SDX
Hirobo Tsurugi
Hirobo Eagle
Hirobo Freya
Hirobo Turbulence D3, D3v2
JR Superio
JR Sylphide
Kasama Srimok
Kalt Alpha
Kalt Baron
Kalt Omega
Kyosho Concept 60SRII
Kyosho Caliber M50, 60, 90
MA Fury
MA Pro 2K
Robbe Futura
Robbe Millennium
Taya Imperio
TSK Acrostar
TSK Mystar

Lots of really cool, fun helicopters and almost all of them gone.

Where are we going? Have we lost direction perhaps?

Have I missed any noteworthy examples?

I have intentionally not listed any known Chinese or Taiwanese models as I believe they have been pivotal in the demise of some once fantastic brands. I have also listed one FBL helicopter because I couldn’t help myself!

From just Robbe I can think of JR-50,JR-52, Champion, Scout, Scout11 and the Magic.
How abought the Kalt Enforcer with that crazy gear transmission that was smoother than any gear set I ever seen.
Didn't they have GMP's where you are? Competitor that Curtis Youngblood won his first world championship with. Cobra, KingCobra and the Legend the first real flybar less heli.
There were a lot of really good heli's that would still be good flyers today.

JR Vigor....and then later, the Vibe. Feel like I missed out on owning one
of those at the time, especially the Vigor CS. Lot of 'Red shirts' putting
on great flights w. those back then.

Wasn't the Superio a TT. If not, I remember a couple guys from Japan TT,
demoing something very nice, NOT a Raptor??

I’ve never seen a GMP in real life as I started flying model helicopters in 1997.

I have however seen the Kalt Enforcer flying. They were called Space Baron’s here.

Sorry forgot about the Vigor, classic machine! I should have also listed the Ergo, Voyager, Vibe.

The Superio was JR’s first F3C helcopter. The Taya Imperio is the helicopter which led to the Raptor line of helicopters. As far as I can work out the Imperio is a super blinged out metal 60 size Kyosho Nexus.

I miss my Kalt helicopters. Glad I have 3 Hirobo, all flybared as I have no desire to do FBL. I wish more flybared machines would be available.
