Given his health I dont see him making it past the spring. Would be good to replace him with a REAL conservative, not some jerk that gets a paycheck since 1987 for having accomplished nothing for Arizona besides being an obstructionist and wet-back sympathizer.

The only solution is term limits for Congress and the Senate.

..yes. But congress nor the senate will never vote to impose any limit whatsoever upon themselves.

they have voted raises for themselves numerous times, votes for more and more government bureaucracy to employ more of their kind to do less and less with ridiculous paychecks, voted for laws that allow them to circumvent them gaining financially from lobbyists an foreign companies alike, voted for changes to laws to allow loopholes for foreign governments to own our land, etc.

nothing short of an all out civil war or the second coming of Christ will ever change what is happening in Washington.

you really think your going to get 33 States to call a convention? did you forget WHO calls that?...
THEN get congress to acknowledge that, THEN pass it up to the Senate?

nope, never gonna happen... unless its to get a raise, more benefits for themselves or more paid time off.
27th Amendment Ratified May 7, 1992. The 27th Amendment requires that no change in compensation for a Representative or a Senator “shall take effect, until an election of representatives shall have intervened.
basically we cant get the raise until after we all agree to it.
26th Amendment ratified July, 1, 1971. The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age.
2. The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
basically allow kids to vote that have yet to develop any actual wisdom...

rarely do they do the right thing for the country, usually they push for what they see as the right thing based on what will keep them in power for their state.

From my limited view here in Mexifornia, the state governments are more corrupt than the feds...........

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

...exactly my point. To depend on the State legislatures to do the right thing and push the federal Government to change for the benefit of the country and its citizens, (not the government and its free loading employees), is akin to asking a drug addict to cut back on the coke when its free.

We have to understand that part of the problem with or government right now is that it is no longer comprised of the people... the "people" are not comprised of millionaire lawyers with ties to foreign power or big business. And more often than not, the idea of by the people and for the people has evolved into by the government and for the government, under the premise of National interests.

Yes, and so sad. The government has taken control away from the people.

Article 5 completely bypasses Congress....and doesn't need the approval of Congress.

It was put in the US Constitution to spite a runaway Congress....much like the Congress we have today.

Whatever amendments are ratified by the states, Congress must abide by them......period.....no ifs, ands, or buts.....

Congress is deathly afraid of Article 5....but will not say anything until more states get on the Article 5 bandwagon.....

When the states do, you will hear Congress bitch like hell....

Um... yeah... heres the problem
yeah to bypass congress and senate, The States may call a Convention (requiring 66%) for proposing Amendments but require three fourths (75%) of the States in order to ratify it... otherwise your stuck going thru congress and the senate to both propose and ratify.

the last time the states got together and pulled that off was in 1933 for the 21st amendment which repelled prohibition... guess EVERYONE needed a drink due to the start of the great depression...

so good luck with that.

Yes it does and that was the whole point of it being put in place.

yeah... but he had money.... lots of it, and was likely planning this for 20 years.

but imposing term limits... nope.

they have NEVER EVER imposed anything upon themselves that limits anything... EVER. not raises, not benefits, not loop holes, not perks... EVER. Gov has grown un-impeded since its inception and found ever imaginative ways to separate us from our wallets while farming more idiots to do the same... we have become nothing more than live stock with the illusion that we have control.
