So i stopped by one of the last and best hobby stores here in San Diego to see whats happening. Well the drones have really put the squeeze on heli shelf space. I figured that it would be that way, what i didn't see happening is some unexplained force pulling me in to viddy all the Drones they have sitting there with a bring me home look on their faces.

I dont know what came over me but i actually asked about the price of the cute tiny 4X4 BAF Quad looking at me with sad eyes. I did not buy her this day, although i did walk out with a Rotor Drone magazine. I even had a flash about selling all my heli stuff, just a flash.. What is wrong with me? Can i be stopped?

Its all earth!

my advice to you is to start drinking heavily...

when you wake up if you still have the urge repeat step one...

seriously.. there is nothing wrong with multi rotors. .. they have their place in the hobby... if you want a challenge on orientation get one... just never sell all your helis

I had an urge to get a nitro truck a few years ago. Just had to have it. I ran a total of 3 or 4 tanks. It was amusing at first.

Horizon has some pretty decent BnF racing quads. They fly sorta like a heli, but unless you are really going for FPV (3D goggles, anti nausea medication and all) I suggest stay away.

I got a Vortex 250 pro in December. The first 19 flights I said "Ill never be able to enjoy this", then the 20th flight it started to be fun. Today I have 2 racing quads and they take 1/2 of my flying time because they are convenient and batteries are cheap...

BUT

They will never take the place of my helis or racing airplanes, and never will

They all fly, they all do different things.

I want them all, and fly them all. I just cannot specialize when there are so many choices. Above all, I love my helis. They are pure enjoyment.

Check out Atlanta Hobbies. They have some really cool quads, hectos, and octos.

They also have FLIRS for night flying.

2 of my friends bought drones, 1 is small and the other is large, about the size of a 50 size Heli Disk, I flew them both for about 10 minutes each, that was it for me, I had no interest in ever flying one again, don't do it !!! they are boring !!!!

Boring, that's what I needed to hear.
I two have been thinking of trying a FPV but can't find any info on them. It's not like heli's when you ask abought them.
I am on the fence so I will be looking here for input.

I have both, heli's and drones. Built drones for years until the DJI Phantom came out. That one was a winner because of it's incredible videos it can take.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Wow... you experienced everything about multi-rotors that quickly. That is amazing. I have worked with them for years. Guess that I am just slow. Once you learn to fly multi-rotor FPV, you will never be bored again. That is not to say that I don't love helis, planes and gliders just as much. To me, it is like favorite meals. Life would stink if only one food existed.

It has sad eyes for a reason.

Nobody loves it.

Are you going to buy a toy because you feel sorry for it?

Jesus RM3, I think I have permanent eye damage! Thanks.
