This is why I leave it to the manufacturers like Powermaster, etc......
I don't blame you, there is a lot of headache when things is not working right. But it is more rewarding when it works.

I'm confused. The oil you noted is marketed as a 4-stroke, crankcase oil for gasoline "...Brigg's and Stratton or Honda racing engines used on Karts,..." I'm not saying it won't work for our engines, I don't know, but it is quite a stretch to use a crankcase oil as a methanol premix. I would have to do some considerable testing before I could recommend this.

Are you happy with your results?
I understand way you are confused, I was too. Like I stated earlier, I stumble to it and RC Universe blog. The person who posted it used 50/50 with Castor Oil as well, and he success with it. Don't know if that was why he had better results. But the oil does mix perfectly with methanol.

No, I am not happy with it right now. But before I am jump into conclusion, I will wait until I test methanol. I ordered Hydrometer that I will receive this weekend. I also hand Klotz-198 that I will mix to run another test on small batch.

I used a mix of 18% ML70 oil and 10% nitro in a home mix for 2 stroke for years and had no trouble.

I also used ML70 oil at 12% and 18% nitro in a Saito 4 cycle - again no problems.

In the UK I obtained these fluids from Southern Modelcraft... http://www.southernmodelcraft.co.uk/model-fuels.php

These mixes produced virtually no corrosion in the engines either..

I run a purity test today using Hydrometer and I came out with over 99% purity, so water definitely is not the problem. I have to conclude that the issue is on the oil type.

Are you making this for a fix wing or heli as well?

I run another test with Klotz (KL-198) with no adjustment, and the engine was run great with no issues. I tested on 3 different helis and they all run excellent. Next will be the SPL Avenger, please (anyone) let me know if you have experience or if you ever used that oil?

I used Klotz for a while, but formed a conical build up/deposit on the tip of the plug.. The rumour then was it had 2% castor in its mix...

It was OK (nothing special) but was messy on the model and fuselage and blew out loads of smoke.

With every oil I tried, I went back to ML70.

KL-100 is 80% synthetic and 20% castor, I have used that as well and it was messy. however KL-198/KL-200 are full synthetics. They were no mess at all with my test and I am running 23% oil.

23% seems a bit extreme.. How much of this 23% is pouring from the exhaust pipe??

Remember, you get little power from consuming oil. (marginal additional cooling maybe..)

A mix of 18% oil will add 5% more combustible vapour!

With OS 105 and 91HZ, the manufacture recommend a minimum of at least 18% lubricant for engine long life. You maybe right about the volume, I have been thinking about reducing it to 20%. I think I will be comfortable with it that volume. Nevertheless, with 23%, I think I had enough power to fly the way I wanted to.
I rally appreciate your inputs.
