modification decided

All my Raptors are grounded until the modifications are complete.

This crash wasn't pretty, easy $120 in repairs, still need to check electronics. Everything on the Crash Raptor needs to be reinspected for any damages or questionable materials. (I hate doing this)(May just cannibalize it for spare parts?)

Step one:
M3 x 60mm (remove M3 x 22 screw) fully threaded across Push/Pull Elevator into Pitch arm with locking nut on the other end.

Step two:
CA (glue) the M3 self tapping screw into your pitch arm (Inside of Pitch arm) on the end of the screw for the Ailerons. (Not the bearing side)

Granted this has not been a problem in the past, the crash tells me otherwise. I do not wish to roll the dice again. It is up to you as individuals rather you decide to do the modifications or not.

Conclusion:
I am not happy at all with this latest crash. It really irritates me that my brand new NHP blades are toast.

Looks like RC Taiwan is either moving to a new warehouse or shutting down. I can't order parts at this moment.

R50 Titan retrofitted with OS 32 engine/37 engine

Flip R30 motor mount upside down, drill 2 precise holes. You have a perfect 30 size engine using 50 titan clutch.

I did this just in case there is someone wanting to do this.

Pretty nifty but why would you want to put a 30 class motor in an already heavy 50 frame ?? ( other than “because I can” ???)

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

Increase your tail authority by using

Updated with Corrections:

PV0675 (8 teeth)

PV1416 (9 Teeth)

PV0029 (9 Teeth)

This (PV0675) increases your RPM's at the tail ratio at 1:5 2k headspeed equals 10k tail speed.

Old PV0029/PV1416 is 1:4 (9 teeth)

Thought you might want to know that!

Should upgrade your tail pitch fork to metal to handle the increased stress.

I purchased a massive PV0544 gear for E550/E620

I am willing to sell some to my heli brothers. Keep in mind it is limited. If I can find another stash, I will buy them all up!

$14.00 each shipped/PP

I am only leaving it in this thread to help my brothers.

Solution to metal tail pitch fork

I went to order some TT metal tail pitch forks for the PV0675 8 Teeth belt pulley upgrade. I noticed very quickly how scarce the items are and people asking premium shipping fees from the EU. I don't have time for bullcrap! I am sure you all feel the same way! InvertedDude got your back!

Solution is to use align parts:

Part Number #H60077B

You will have to extend the tail wire control line between 12mm to 15mm, if servo boom mounted then move the servo. You will also need to grind 1 screw inside of tail rotor grip to prevent from hitting the control arm. Other than this....100% bolt on. Do not interchange screws or bushings. Keep TT with TT screws and Align with Align screws. TT rotor grips screws are different from aligns, pay attention!

Geometry

Geometry on a right piro will it lock up? Looks like the link binds and holds the tail grip causing it to get stuck in a hard fast piro. Or can you while using Aligns yoke use longer link to bushings so that the geometry cannot bind.

We'll I'll stick with the TT aluminum yokes for now.

Yeah, i agree...that why you put the limits in gyro settings....if you drive the blades too far...you are way outside the needed tail pitch. You only need 40 to 45 degrees tail pitch degrees both ways.

If anyone has something besides align....i am all ears. Tt metal forks are about gone.

What other options do we have?

Correction:
Measured between 30 to 35 degrees of pitch on tail depending on how you do it. So basically the TT E620 tail fork gives you 30 to 35 degrees. The align pitch gives you more than that, I see why it would lock up. This is why you need to limit the throw and adjust gyro limits to prevent it from locking up. I don't see the issue unless someone can correct me? If you guys want me to show a video flying the Align Metal Fork....I will do it for you guys!

I forgot all about that!

I went ahead and grabbed my Beast 50 helicopter and put this together for you real quick. I will have to do a few more things before I can fly it.

The belt is thicker and less dexterity. Notice how thick it is? I will have to check tail case after a flight to see if any plastic materials has been rubbed off.

Your drivetrain is really smooth and quiet! Great job on the setup. If the belt wears away the bottom of the tail box, it is just one less thing for you to do. LOL

If you put a 8 tooth pulley in the back, it will gain you some room.

Pitch range

After so many hours of adjusting and trying different options. I have settled on what I think is the best range for the Raptor 30/50/Titan/E620.

100% +11.25

75% +4.75

50% 0

25% -3.75

0% -10.75

Cyclic range 7.5 degrees Ele/Ali

Smooth and docile control into quick response. Try it out guys!
