I know its hard to believe, but does anyone out there have a mikado 3.5mm flybar? I dont know if other companys used a 3.5 mm size flybar.

Thanks! John

Just get some 3.5mm stainless rod , and a proper die size and make as many as you want...

That sounds like a lot of work. Where would you find stainless rod?

Older helis are going to require their owners to fabricate some parts.

I managed to make my raptor 50 titan to run on 3 separate manufacture rotor heads. Parts can be challenging for discontinued models.

You can just buy the proper size drill rod from any industrial supply house. You want the rod that is not heat treated yet and it usually comes in 3 foot sections. Just look up drill rod online and you will find more sources than you can imagine. McMaster Carr is an excellent source. They will also have the correct die.

Why is this off topic?

I remembered having some 3/16 stainless rod out in the shop, so just for giggles I went down and slapped one in the vise got out a die and threaded about an inch & one-half. It went fine enough. A little crunchy without lube but once I used some tap oil, it was actually cutting a curl. I went forward and reverse as usual, nothing unusual that I noticed.

Threading small stock would take some finesse.

Everybody keeps mentioning stainless but the average person would have a very hard time telling ground drill rod from stainless and it might even be stronger. I'm pretty sure most of the flybars I've used in the past were indeed, not stainless.

It would be either galvanized, chrome or stainless, if it did not rust. I have had some rust.

someone out there must have one left over.
The mikado part numbers are 723 for the 450mm length
and 724 for the 500mm length. Both are 3.5 diameter

There is a flybar section on here, might have better luck?

I have a 4mm flybar 570mm long? If 4mm flybars are easier to come by could you drill out the holes to 4mm?

60% of the time, it works every time!

Thanks Richard, I have thought about going to a larger flybar, just too many parts to drill and not enough material to be safe. I used my last flybar and will probably go flybarless after my next crash with this heli.

what mikado model?..

I have three of varying lengths for my ole logo 10..I started making them a little longer to speed up cyclic response..I have a 440 mm; one is 405mm and one is 390mm..I also have a flyable Logo 10 and a box of parts I'd be willing to part with for 150.00 plus shipping..if you're interested!..oh yeah I was using curtis stub paddles so the thread is for those.

I do a great decending funnel!
